What's happening in Bolton will happen in dozens of cities & towns a couple of weeks later, and then everywhere a couple of weeks after that.
Headteachers' best strategies on the tweets below. 1/4
On April 5 the US GOV Center for Disease Control published surprising new findings: infections have been almost zero by contaminated surfaces, and virtually all by contaminated air.
Quote & link 👇
"the risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection via the fomite transmission route is 2/4
low, and generally less than 1 in 10,000, which means that each contact with a contaminated surface has less than a 1 in 10,000 chance of causing an infection"
What that means for classrooms is that VERY GOOD VENTILATION is the best way to minimise 3/4
Masks too, of course, but unfortunately it suffers social resistance.
Distance too, when physically possible.
Ventilation is the easiest for headteachers to do.
(Please tag this thread to teachers, heads, education officials & journos. 🙏)

PS: Sorry, very important:
There are many simulations online showing that ventilation via THROUGH DRAUGHTS are much more efficient (obviously).
This is very important.
If through draught is not possible then forced ventilation via extractor fans become essential.
Epidemiologists' help needed please:
After the new CDC findings quoted & linked on the tweets above (👆), should headteachers allow air draught trough school building as described below, or keep bubbles and low ventilation?
For classrooms with 30 children the ventilation showed in the video below is far from enough. Through draught is needed, via all windows and doors opened fully.
Teachers and Heads have not received adequate information. They haven't "got" it yet.
Public Health England (PHE) removed a page of data about the spread of the new variant in schools from its latest report under pressure from Number 10.
The economic policies of fascism have historically benefited the economic elites. So how did the political elites of fascism managed to get the votes of the poor?

1. Nationalism and Unity: Fascists promoted a strong sense of national identity, framing the nation as under threat from external forces (such as immigrants or foreign powers) and internal enemies (like communists or ethnic minorities).

As we know, Russian money penetrate the Tory party widely and deeply. We have no idea how badly. But the fact is that the weapons Johnson sent to Ukraine were decisive to defeat Putin at the battle of Kyiv. Somehow, Johnson is no longer a Putin's asset.
The claims about the Labour leader’s meeting with a Czechoslovakian agent are rooted in the conflicted politics of the UK left in the 1980s – and in attitudes that persist today"
