This is particularly maddening for me, because much of my defense of Rosenstein over the years was because I agreed with his critique of Comey that Comey failed to follow DOJ policy and thereby politicized the DOJ.
But Judge Jackson is telling us all, in black and white, that Rosenstein and his hand-picked Russia investigation minion O'Callaghan did the exact same thing and worse - violated DOJ policy (and corrupted the Office of Legal Counsel) to further their pro-Trump aims.
This means that Rosenstein, O'Callaghan, Barr and Engel knowingly conspired to violate DOJ policy after Mueller did the correct thing in laying out the evidence and deferring during the term.
To me, that sounds a little bit like obstruction of justice as well.
It rips Comey for violating chain of command and press protocols. And that is EXACTLY what RR and O'Callaghan did by coopting the OLC and using it feed Barr's letter to Congress lying about Mueller's report.
This wildly inappropriate act now sheds a dark light on the confusing elements of the beginnings of the Mueller era - like whether RR was in on it with Trump in the firing of Comey. In that light it damn sure looks like it justsecurity.org/63712/a-brief-…
And if that is the case, then "land the plane" sounds a lot like the worst case scenario everyone but me heard: that RR appointed a SC Mueller and remained at the head of the investigation because he believed that was the best way to contain the political fallout. That sucks.
It also indicates a MUCH larger problem in the DOJ. Before Trump, Rosenstein was a relatively obscure, extremely smart, seemingly independent federal prosecutor in Maryland. No prior red flags. But he was immediately activated by Trump as a Trojan Horse in main justice.
O'Callaghan, prior to being elevated by Rosenstein to head the Russia/Mueller investigation was the Principal Deputy Assistant AG of the NATIONAL SECURITY DIVISION. So there was a criminal mole in the NATSEC division, too. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_O%27Ca…
Judge Jackson is revealing that the entire DOJ leadership was engaged in a conspiracy to undermine the Mueller report and help Trump. This is the biggest scandal in the history of the DOJ and a horrifying stain on our nation.

As attorneys, we are trained from the beginning that attorney-client privilege is our most sacred trust. We should go to jail to protect it, we should NEVER violate that trust voluntarily.
The Court's decision was that there were portions of the memo that were after-the-fact cover for a decision already made, and that some was mere political advice -- those parts will be released.
It's tempting, but a terrible mistake, to say "men should sit down and shut up" on this issue. At least 40% of US women are "pro-life" news.gallup.com/poll/244709/pr…
Combatting the pro-life movement therefore requires a coalition of liberal men and women. Telling a significant part of a coalition that their opinions don't matter is a mistake.
KOMPROMAT. Let us examine the evidence that the Trump phenomenon is really just long form kompromat. A thread. (A cooperative thread, I hope, since y'all should add the stuff I miss).
Eric Prince and Project Veritas were back in the news this week for hiring professionally attractive women to video tape trump enemies. These women included.
This isn't the first time that Trump allies have been closely identified with running honeypot operations. gizmodo.com/cambridge-anal…
The NRA is not just a terrorist organization. Not just a front for pro-Russian anti-American interests. It is, at it's core, a giant ATM for one extremely douchie dude - Wayne Lapierre. A THREAD.
On May 11, 2021, the Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas dismissed the NRA's petition for bankruptcy. I haven't read it yet, so I'll tweet as I go. I do have a pre-existing concept of the NRA's massive grift, however.
As an American, I have not spent a lot of time thinking about royalty. Our founders rebelled against it; wrote a lot about the negative aspects of Tyrants; and baked this into the Constitution: "No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States."
Despite that, I have often thought - looking at Canada, the UK, Australia, etc. - that perhaps a tamed royalty adds a nice flair and creates a sense of pride that we lack in the US. Queen Elizabeth seems a good person and she has done some good things.
That said, history is in the process of proving our founders right. The British Royal family is in bed with anti-democratic traitors and all the gilded carriages can't cover that up.
I have just begun to dig into Judge Jackson's ruling re: the March 24, 2019 Memo on prosecuting Trump for obstruction. It looks very bad for Rod Rosenstein. I have always been ready to change opinions in light of evidence. This is evidence.
First, these are the most concerning facts re: Rod Rosenstein yet. The memo was partly authored by his deputy, and is signed off by him on it's way to Barr.
The Principal Associate Deputy AG Edward O'Callaghan that drafted this is a person you may recognize, and who I have long suggested people take a look at. I have always wondered why the Twitter hate machine did not even bother to ask who he was.
