My favorite thing that's happened so far in 2021 is when my partner exclaimed, in a sing-songy voice, "Mr. Pigggg!" at our cat

...without realizing that their partner was on a very serious "all-hands" Zoom call... unmuted.
I need you all to understand that hundreds of employees were discussing their futures on a Zoom call when my partner walked in the room and exclaimed "MR. PIGGGG~~~"

UNMUTED
We call him Mr. Pig because he snores very preciously when he sleeps and lives to eat Fancy Feast, but his actual name is Pancake, which makes this story even better

I am setting aside a few minutes to make this clarification, and then I'm muting anything and everything related to it, because I don't have the energy to spare to folks who are committed to misunderstanding this point.

So. About Elliot Page. Once again. ⤵️
It's not his fault that people are making these comments. But it strikes me as gross when cis people have chosen to applaud his body and his appearance instead of his joy.

That's the issue my past tweets have been calling out.
Elliot has been super committed to talking about the different dimensions of privilege that come with his visibility. I love what he's about and what he's doing.

My issue is how cis people are framing the narrative around that photo when Elliot clearly says it's about TRANS JOY.

As part of my role at @get_inflow, I'm building out a network of ADHD advocates who would like to participate in future events, write for our blog (paid, of course!), be featured within our app, and much more.

Reply to this tweet if interested, or read below for more info! 🧵👇🏻
My big dream for Inflow is that we build a community that works together to educate, uplift, and inspire. It sounds cheesy, but it's true.
I want to connect with advocates who are really passionate about using their own experiences to teach and empower other folks with ADHD. And I want to use Inflow's platform to give people more opportunities to do that.

Trans men and non-binary people also have miscarriages.

Except when we do, many of us can’t access the care we need without discrimination, fight with our insurance companies to get that care covered, and have to deal with providers who do not understand our literal bodies.
When we use exclusionary language, we perpetuate systems that deny that these things ever happen... which means when we miscarry, we not only have the weight of stigma and grief. We face added barriers that leave many of us without medical care *entirely.*
This isn’t just a language preference. This is about making sure that if a man miscarries, he doesn’t have to fight his insurance company because of “sex discrepancies.” This is about making sure that if a non-binary person miscarries, they aren’t afraid to seek out medical care.

I want to share the most healing thing a therapist ever told me. 🧵 Incoming: Lots of very earnest tweets.

Read if: You ever felt like the "black sheep" of the family.
CN: sui

Context: A few years ago now, one of my best friends died by suicide. They were someone with such a bright light to them (you know what I mean?). They were a neuroscientist by day, a drag queen by night, with the most wonderful laugh.
I was telling my therapist that it was so profoundly unfair that someone like that would die. Someone so uniquely wonderful, so rare, like you know that you'll never meet anyone like them ever again.

Today is my first day working full-time as the Content & Community Lead for @get_inflow.
I'm really honored to be able to put this Kermit gif on your feed. It is truly a work of art.
This also now means that if you don't sign up for the app, you are transphobic*

*does not represent the views of my employer, it's just science
