I don’t think I am an outstandingly smart problem-solver. At some point, I realized that chasing a $400K+ salary requires me to be that or white. That is why I am falling back on a strength that I haven’t monetized yet - financial discipline. I am convinced this is my calling.
I realized that to get to a $400K+ salary, even if all the stars align, I am looking at 2030 at the very least. And given this white hegemony at CXO level, my chances are slim. So, I am hacking the system with my strength. Finding a loophole through its blindspot.
Whether I get there or not is for me to find out, but I am convinced this is my best chance of getting there. Because once I get there, my brown skin and my faith praxis won’t matter. I will script my own story. But there is a long way to go. First milestone: December 2021. 🤞🤞
But while I get there, it’s a terribly hard grind. That fiscal discipline requires killing every want - and even some needs - that I have. Example: I haven’t taken a vacay since 2014. Zero travel. Because that’s what my strength demands from me right now.

My story with Shaykh Taha Karaan [thread]:

A friendship that spans over 23 years now, I first met him when I was 20 years old over mIRC. Taha bhai was hardly 30 at the time & unknown to the world. I met him at a time when I was having a faith crisis and was looking for answers.
As I would find out in due course, he was a hidden gem that would shine one day for the world to take note. He didn’t see it back then or maybe was just humble like that, but I would often tell him that he is going to go on to become something big. People didn’t know he existed.
In the newly sprouting online world, he was known as “Abu Muhammad Al-Afriqui”. I still recall, circa 2000, I read one of Abu Muhammad’s articles and shared it with Taha bhai saying, “Wow, this Abu Muhammad guy is a genius!” He laughed and told me that it was him!
