The state focuses on policing interpersonal conflict because it allows them to use marginalized people as scapegoats for its structural failings and imprison them for the benefit of the ruling class/capital.
The way to end cycles of violence is not policing but by abolishing white supremacist capitalist systems/states that perpetuate harm through imperialism, colonization, and other forms of exploitation & empowering communities to self-govern & find nonpunitive systems of justice.
sorry for the late night word salad i've been reading writing, and video editing content about prison abolition and my whole brain is mushy

You ever think about how you manage to survive on the amount of money rich people spend on their car payment? Or a single meal?
I’ve been managing to live on $800 a month this whole pandemic ($700 for bills $100 for food) & that’s kinda wild to me????? Like that’s someone car payment????
Wealth inequality is SO BAD that the amount of money rich people spend in a purse would be life changing for a majority of the population.

It takes so much money & connections to be an artist & I think white artists claiming anti racism and posting about BLM should do more for Black artists. Share your contacts with us. Honestly give us free services or share the education you were able to afford with us.
Y’all gotta start figuring out how you could help improve our material conditions n shit. Like actually help us make connections. Help further our careers. Offer free services to Black people. On some reparations shit.
Help Black artists make their websites for free. Help write their artist bios. Introduce us to your agent & venue owners. Tell your fancy friends about our work. Produce & mix our work free of charge.

Still putting my thoughts together on this
Overall I think trans women of color are often subjected to the most systemic and interpersonal abuse & often time queer issues center yt & cis queer people. As a community we should be organizing in solidarity with trans women of color and stop centering yt cis people.
& of course I am not a trans woman and I am not the person that is impacted the most by transmisogyny. But I think it really shows how much people treat trans women like shit. Because the go to form of harassment is usually transmisogyny.

I can’t even tell you the amount of times white queer people have said I made them uncomfortable and when asked why they’ve said it’s because I’m homophobic.

& when they’re informed that I’m a queer nonbinary person they responded by insinuating that I’m ~faking it
This made my coming out journey so much harder because I would show up to queer events or queer clubs and be treated like shit. I just want community and I wanted to learn and people did not want me there.
One of the few times I was called the n slur (with the hard r and everything) was at the LGBTQ center in Las Vegas. And they put a temp ban on the person that verbally assaulted me & I was reprimanded for “starting trouble.”
