Jeremy thinks that teen’s mental health is suffering b/c they lost so many loved ones.

Not b/c they were masked, isolated, and deprived.

Jeremy & I disagree.

In my fam,

A.) We know zero ppl who died w/
C19

B.) Restrictions caused their despair

Don’t believe me? Read on...
I expect “They were prob struggling before” or “You’re a bad mom” or “They need to be more resilient.”

To that I say “You want to double down? Refusing to validate their suffering & failure to rectify it = lead even more decimation...w/ no plausible deniability this time.”
This narrative might be the most offensive of the pandemic and I, for one, will not let it go unchallenged.

Cool with lockdowns & school closures?

So be it.

But then you have to own what they do to kids.

Millions of parents aren’t going to let this gaslighting stand.

I have 3 teen girls & a tween. Pre 3/20, they were growing & thriving. Since 3/20, they all, at some point, wanted to escape this dystopian world b/c

*Isolation
*Masks
*Rites of Passage cancelled
*Sports gone
*Grades ⬇️
*Futures MIA

Two lost 20lbs each.
cnn.com/2021/06/11/hea…
Graduations, Proms, School, College, Study Abroad— All cancelled

Dating was impossible

They were freaked out at being treated like untouchables in public.

Masks scared them b/c they couldn’t read people faces

And every day was Groundhog Day...
Masks = terrible skin problems which affected their self-esteem

One covered her mirror.

No in-person counseling

My two performers couldn’t perform.

They lost trust that adults around them (besides me) gave 2 shits.

And they were shamed for not being ‘resilient’ enough...

The thread below has been spread widely on Twitter to try to discredit Sunetra Gupta & it's a FAKE event

Look at the website, which he doesn't link- only screenshots worldfreedomforum.es

There's no location/address/times/social presence/no mention on Twitter before 3 June...
It doesn't return on a Google search. The copy is non-sensical. Her picture is old and available online.

The domain wasn't registered until 2 weeks ago.

So it goes without saying that - No - she's not attending the fake conference...
The tweet thread is a lie to foment outrage & attempt to discredit by association.

It's one thing to disagree w/ someone. It's another to be willfully duped to satisfy your confirmation bias.

This is morally bankrupt & anyone who shared w/o looking further owes her an apology.

I have no words. What do you have to do to a 5 y.o.’s mind to have them dreaming (or even claiming to dream to please you) about getting stuck with a needle?

As a kid, my cousin had cancer and even tho he knew the chemo could save his life (it did) he unequivocally dreaded it.
I read these threads for insight into what parents could possibly be thinking & I walk away disturbed every time.

Despite the facts re: C19, kids & risk (well articulated here medpagetoday.com/opinion/marty-… ) they are positively intoxicated by the idea of vaxxing their kids...
It definitely seems like it has more to do with a positive feedback loop between the parents than anything to do with the kids.

And the ones who claim their kids are the initiators are the most bizarre.

It’s almost like some variant of Munchausen by proxy

Idk. It’s upsetting.

The handling of the entire pandemic has been an exercise in the McNamara (quantitative) fallacy:

Making decisions based on a narrow set of metrics to the exclusion of all other qualitative information.

But it’s not even that simple...

🧵🪡
The metrics we *did* use were riddled with error...

1. the model outputs were faulty & dependent on erroneous inputs (GIGO)

2. the data reporting methods were overly-inclusive & created specifically for C19, rendering the data itself inflated and context-less...
(e.g. we can’t compare C19 deaths to other CoDs to measure severity because they are counted in completely different ways.)

So we essentially made the decision to shut down the world not just while ignoring qualitative info, but based on data w/ almost no information value...
