I really didn't want to weigh in on the situation with @TSR_games and @Gygax_Jr because I've never had much involvement with the original company or "Dungeons & Dragons" (except for the 80s cartoon, which I was a fan of), but it's time to set the record straight on this. 1/10

First of all, Ernie Gygax never said, as some are insisting, that "he created the new TSR for people who wanted to enforce two gender identities". What he specifically said was that a lot of old school tabletop role-playing game artists and designers had been getting flak... 2/10

...for allegedly being old-fashioned and not subscribing to modern trends, citing differing opinions on gender identity as an example. Specifically, he said they were getting grief for, among other things "enforcing or even having the concepts of gender identity" and felt... 3/10

...that those maligned creatives had a lot of remaining potential that he wished to tap into in order to produce new material in the future. The exact quote (and the video it was taken from) are linked here so they can be viewed in proper context. 4/10

And here's the thing: Ernie Gygax is completely right about creatives being targeted. One only has to look at the excommunication of Terese Nielsen from the "Magic: The Gathering" community last year for her controversial and "far right" (i.e. non-leftist) views as proof. 5/10

As an aside, given that one side in the current culture war seems determined to destroy traditional concepts of masculinity and femininity and eradicate sexy artwork, I suspect Gygax meant to say "classic gender roles" and not "gender identity", but that's just my opinion. 6/10

Now, let's get to the other big distortion: That TSR mocked gender identity and called a transwoman disgusting for demanding a clarification of Gygax's position. First, the individual involved asked TSR to "expand upon the comments [Gygax] made about gender identity"... 7/10

...to which they responded that he had made no such comments. And they're correct. As mentioned above, he cited DIFFERING OPINIONS ON GENDER IDENTITY as a reason that veteran creators were being targeted and alienated. He did not state his own position on it or that of TSR. 8/10

She then used a loaded demand to try and extort TSR into making an explicit ideological/political statement regarding transgendered individuals for her benefit. It was this shameless, self-serving action - NOT her or her transgender status - which was deemed "disgusting". 9/10

I'm fed up of woke individuals rewriting history. Socially ostracized, marginalized individuals created the TTRPG community. You then infiltrated their space and drove them out of it in the guise of "diversity" and "tolerance". You're not victims; you're the perpetrators. 10/10

Heh, what do you know? It seems that no good deed goes unpunished. 😅

Oh well, I stood up for the truth and have no regrets. 🙂
