Do you know! INDIA is the birthplace of many modern Board Games

And Snakes n Ladders (an ancient board game) is one of them

The 13th century Poet Saint Gyandev created the game of Snakes & Ladders. It was originally called 'Mokshapatam’
( where the highest no. "100" was represented as Moksha, a person can attain salvation through doing good deeds )

or Vaikunthapaali (coz People used to play it on Vaikuntha Ekadashi day as they will not sleep on that day )

or Paramapadam Sopanam ( where Paramapada means
highest place, means the feet of Bhgwan Vishnu and Sopnam means Steps )

This is not just a game but an allegory to life. In the game of life, the snakes are the bad habits (Vices ) and the ladders are the good habits (Virtues ).
The subtle aspects behind the game where ladders signify a Guru, an Acharya, a good character or a noble company and the snakes signify a cheat, a fraud, a bad character, or an ignoble company. This keeps happening in everyone's life
but its meaning remained the same, good deeds take people to heaven ( to the feet of Bhagwan Vishnu in Paramapadam ) and evil to a cycle of Rebirths.

The game was played with cowrie shells and Dhaaya Kattai (Dices).
The number of ladders was less than the number of snakes as a reminder that a path of good is much more difficult to tread than a path of sins.

In time, the game underwent several modifications,
The game made its way to England and
was sold as "Snakes and Ladders", then the basic concept was introduced in the United States as Chutes and Ladders (an "improved new version of England's famous indoor sport" by game publisher Milton Bradley Company in 1943.

Know Why should we do Half Pradakshina ( Ardh Parikrama ) of Shivling 🔱🙏

It means, a devotee should perform one pradakshina for Maa Durga, seven for Bhagwan Surya,
Three for Shree Ganesh Ji, Four for Bhagwan Vishnu But for Bhagwan Shiv one should perform only half pradakshina.

According to Shastras and Shivpuran, only half-parikrama must be carried out by the devotees around the Shiva Linga. This practice is justified by explaining that,
Shiva is both 'Aadi' & 'Anant'. Aadi meaning first or beginning and Anant means everlasting. Thus, the divine and endless energy (Shakti) flowing from him is represented in the form of Nirmili which is the narrow outlet from where the milk and water flows.

Bhagwan Kalki- Tenth and the final avatar of BHAGWAN VISHNU and The End of Kali-Yuga

It is described in Srimad-Bhagavatam that he will appear at the conjunction of the two yugas, namely at the end of Kali-Yuga ( running one) and the beginning of Satya-Yuga
The mission of Kalki Avatara is to re-establish the religious principles, which have disappeared by the end of Kali Yuga.

The great cycle of the Four -Yugas ,Satya, Treta, Dvapara and Kali, rotates like the calendar months.(Sat-Yuga will start once again when Kali-Yuga ends)
The present age of Kali-yuga lasts 432,000 years, out of which we have passed only 5,000 years after the Battle of Kuruksetra and the end of the regime of King Pariksit.

So there are 427,000 years balance yet to be finished, till the advent of Lord Kalki.

Why we consider cow as Gaumata 🙏🏻

According to History, Kamdhenu ( mother of all cows) emerged from the ocean during the great Samudra Manthana and was given to the Saptarishis to provide milk and ghee to perform havans.

It is believed that many deities are residing in the cow’s body. The four legs of Kamdhenu are supposed to be as strong as the Himalayas. The divine trinity of Brahma,Vishnu and Mahesh are symbolized by her horns,
her eyes by the Sun and the Moon, her shoulders by Agni n Vayu hence she is the fulfiller of all wishes n desires. Nature’s grace is also served only by serving the cow,
