In that meeting, Holbrooke told Biden that he thought they had a certain obligation to the ppl who trusted them in Afghanistan.
Biden replied (per Holbrooke): “Fuck that, we don’t have to worry about that. We did it in Vietnam, Nixon and Kissinger got away with it.”
