Okay, so the first movie I'm going to be talking about on this Twitter page is #BlackWidow. I saw this movie a little more than a week ago in theaters, and to say the least my expectations were exceeded. (1/11)
After the events of Avengers: Endgame, a movie about Black Widow seemed a little odd, if not unnecessary. When it was announced that this project would be a prequel, I think everyone lost a little bit of excitement for it. I know I did. (2/11)
I personally thought that this film wouldn't really have anything much to add to the MCU, and would just be another story about an action hero kicking butt. There was lots of that, of course, but the movie turned out to be so much more than that. (3/11)
It turned out to be a spy movie that was fully focused on family and what exactly it means to be family. It focused on Natasha's family and what made Natasha who she became, as well as Natasha herself. (4/11)
The movie was also cast perfectly. Especially the additions of Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova and David Harbour as Red Guardian, a Russian version of Captain America. The story was also great enough to let these new actors and characters shine. (5/11)
Yelena and Alexei, and how they interacted with each other and with Natasha, was the icing on the cake in this movie. This, along with the amazing music and intriguing plot, is what made this movie so much more than just a prequel about a now-dead character. (6/11)
Now for just a couple things I didn't like as much about this movie (don't worry, there's just a couple!). For one, I think Taskmaster was a let down for just about everyone. (7/11)
Don't get me wrong, Taskmaster was a good character and a nice addition to the movie. The problem lies in the fact that "Taskmaster" is such a big name in the comics, and the villain was hyped up to the point where fans thought the movie version would match that. (8/11)
Another thing is that this movie was released at a poor time. It would've been much better if this movie had been released in 2017, between the two movies in which it's set. (9/11)
Other than that, this movie is fantastic. Scarlett Johansson did a great job leading this movie and showcasing this amazing character we've seen grow over the years since Iron Man 2. She also let the new additions have their time to shine, which is just as important. (10/11)
Like I said previously, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and was very impressed by it. A perfect return to watching movies in the theater. (11/11)
Haven't done any movie reviews for a while but I just got back from watching #ThorLoveAndThunder , so I thought I'd share what I thought about it. Spoilers follow❗️
Initially, I wasn't really sure what I felt about this movie. It definitely had some really great moments and was an extremely fun and silly film that also touched on some deep subjects, however briefly.
That balance of silly and deep felt a little shakier than it did in the previously installment, though. Thor: Ragnarok is one of my favorite MCU movies and a definite improvement over both its predecessors.
