I’m at the criminal courthouse in downtown Los Angeles, where the preliminary hearing in singer D4vd’s murder case is to begin at 8:30 am.
I’m in the hallway outside the courthouse. I’m the 19th media member here hoping to get a seat in the courtroom.
I’ll share updates here.
A team from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office entered Judge Charlaine Olmedo’s courtroom a few minutes ago, including lead prosecutor Beth Silverman.
D4vd's preliminary hearing is now scheduled for May 1.
He's back in court next Wednesday (April 29) to discuss how much discovery has been obtained and whether the prelim will proceed.
A prosecutor said they found "a significant amount of child pornography" on his iCloud.
Megan Thee Stallion walks into the federal courthouse in Miami this morning for day four of trial in her defamation lawsuit against online commentator Milagro Gramz.
I am finishing an article on Wednesday’s busy day of testimony,
Trial is in an abrupt recess after Milagro’s former moderator Amiel Holland-Briggs began sobbing on the witness stand as he testified about his decision to quit amid mounting disagreement over Milagro’s approach.
Good morning from Miami, where it’s day three of trial in Megan Thee Stallion’s defamation lawsuit against online commentator Milagro Gramz.
Jurors right now are seeing excerpts from the deposition of Livingston Allen aka DJ Akademiks.
One thing I should've mentioned in the article on yesterday is that Megan’s lawyer John O’Sullivan had Milagro read aloud the jury verdict form convicting Tory Lanez of all three counts.
Jurors saw some of Ceaser McDowell’s deposition after Akademik’s. McDowell is founder of Unite the People, which initially represented Milagro. Jurors heard a prison call Lanez made to McDowell in which they discuss representing Milagro.
Megan Thee Stallion walks into the Miami federal courthouse for the second day of trial in her defamation lawsuit against an online commentator.
Defendant Milagro Cooper continues testifying this morning.
I’m here at the courthouse.
Court is on a quick break. Milagro is still testifying in direct-exam from Megan's lawyer John O'Sullivan. He's played a clip of her saying if Tory lied to her and asked her about any conversations she's had with Tory about the shooting, but Milagro denies Tory told her details.
.@quinnemanuel put a lot of work into this trial, which is good considering how much they charge.
O'Sullivan is bringing up clips from Milagro's deposition, and he's got her handwritten notes from Lanez's trial.
Here’s the transcript of Judge Subramanian asking Sean “Diddy” Combs about testifying.
“Mr. Combs, how are you feeling today?”
“I’m doing great. How are you, your honor?”
“Good.”
“I want to tell you, you’re doing an excellent job.”
“In the last 48 hours, have you taken any drugs, medicine, pills or had any alcohol?”
“No, I have not.”
“Do you understand that if you decide not to testify, that no one, including the jury, could draw inference or suggestion of your guilt from the fact that you did not testify?”
A new lawsuit says the woman who accused Jay-Z of rape "voluntarily admitted" that her claim was false and influenced by plaintiff's attorney Tony Buzbee.
Lawsuit filed today in federal court in Alabama brings a defamation claim against the woman, identified only as Jane Doe, and malicious prosecution, conspiracy and abuse of process claims against her, Buzbee ad Buzbee's co-counsel David Fortney. documentcloud.org/documents/2554…
