Believe you had Robert Dingwall on earlier @BBCNews

Care to explain why?

"However, we should acknowledge that many frail old people might see Covid-19 infection as a relatively peaceful end"
Here is the source for that:…
Oh - and he wasn't the only one

Today, I watched a professional pratfall comedian finally fall.

A man who thinks he is Churchill, when in fact he is Chaplain.

Although, in fairness, Chaplain was better and would likely have made a more more serious & better job than he,

Philander's though they both may be
Johnson knew he had to come out today, to spread condiment on the utter disgrace of his government,

His entourage as weak as he, he had to hide their mendacity.

He failed. If anything he left his acolytes in a worse position.

At no point did the bumbling buffoon act work.
This role he has played so long and so well, is no longer able to carry him.

He should talk to his fellow comedians of the same cloth - Bernard Manning or Jim Davidson perhaps.

Jim especially - ruined by racism as he was

Sadly, Johnson is a one trick pony

And has become stale

Twitter feels fairly miserable tonight

So - let me say this

You are bloody wonderful people.

Sod the twats. Sod the bots. Sod the depravity.

You make each day worth waking for.

Never forget that.
You guys make the day worth waking up to.

I have SO many more to add

This is day 1, so bear with me.

I have over 16k followers, all of whom are exceptional

And I would acknowledge them all.

I don't like talking about my personal life & family, but tonight I think it is necessary

In December 2020 my whole family caught covid.

My wife, me, 3 daughters & our son.

It knocked be and the son out for quite a while - though the girls did better.

I lost 6 weeks
I have also been hit with long covid since - some days barely able to move, let alone get out of bed or think.

Every joint has ached, my chest has really hurt, my heart has raced for no good reason.

But that has been nothing compared to my 24 year old son.

He is 10x worse
He cannot sit for more than 1/2 an hour

Cannot walk for more than 15 minutes.

Is on massive doses of codeine for the pain.

So - when you come with comments of low death numbers?

Fuck off.

You know nothing.

My boy has already had one shot and is laid low

On @LBC, Maajid Nawaz wants to talk about the Batley & Spen by election - and made that point clear with the first caller (Happy with the win)

Current caller, articulate as they are, has gone into the Iraq war, Blair etc for over 5 minutes now.

This is very poor.
He reads a text out:

Before the by election, media was against Labour & Starmer as they couldn't win.
Now they are against Labour as it wasn't a bigger win
Why are they not after Johnson for losing?

A very valid point.

Maajid tries to point to media highlighting Hancock
But that is cobblers.

The truth is that Galloway sucked away Labour voters - but failed.

Given how much the press calls out Starmer, the real question is why could the Tories not capitalise on that much bias?

The Johnson government is basically set up on photo ops, PR and symbolism.

So you would think they would be REALLY good at it.

But this is a bit of a howler.

This image appeared on the No. 10 Flickr site yesterday:
It was one of a number of images taken for the @AskNationwide Mutual Respect drive

The flag was sent to No.10 for signing - a good cause and good PR.

But that image - and with the No.10 text giving no context for it, inevitably led to multiple meme opportunities

I disagree with this profoundly & for many reasons.

We are, in many ways, in the mess we are in through bad sociology used in the nudge theory thinking.

The idea that we would become weary of restrictions was false.

Until it was repeated over and over - I fear we are now there
It has become a self fulfilling prophecy, where people ignore clear facts & risk.

There is no evidence that lasting immunity is achieved through natural infection.

Evidence suggests that covid infection causes loss of grey matter
We do not know the effect that has on the developing brains of children.

Covid attacks multiple sites of the body - which, even if not fatal, are LIKELY to be life altering.
