Black voters proved key to Eric Adams's win in the NYC mayoral race
Black residents made up 34% of the assembly districts that Adams won, including areas like Harlem, the Bronx and South Brooklyn. They comprised <5% of the districts won by Garcia

Rep. Jamie Raskin, the lead impeachment manager, is recounting being at the Capitol on January 6 with his family, all grieving the loss of his son a week before. Shortly after he gave his speech on the floor, the Capitol was attacked while his family was in Hoyer's office
Raskin kept it together while recounting the day, but he started to cry when he said his daughter, who was there, said she didn't want to return to the Capitol ever.
"Of all the terrible brutal things I saw and I heard on that day and since then, that one hit me the hardest..."
Raskin continued: "That and watching someone use an American flag pole, flag still on it, to spear and pummel one of our police officers, ruthlessly, mercilessly, tortured by a pole with a flag on it that he was defending with his very life."

Rep. Jamie Raskin, lead impeachment manager, says if the Senate does not convict Trump: "This would create a brand-new January exception to the Constitution of the United States of America."
Raskin: "It's an invitation to the president to take his best shot at anything he'd like to do on his way out the door including using violent means to lock that door."
Raskin then turns to a video montage of Trump's speech on January 6 calling on his supporters to go to the Capitol, and his supporters descending upon it, some shouting "let's take the Capitol!"

House Rules Committee Chairman McGovern to Rep Jim Jordan:
"Will you admit the Joe Biden won the election fair and square and that the election was not rigged or stolen?"

Jordan initially refuses to answer whether Biden won "fair and square" but says Biden is president-elect
Jordan: "What I did over the past several months is follow the process that the constitution prescribes --"

McGovern: "That's not the question I asked -- we don't need a filibuster"

Jordan: "at 4 am on Thursday day January 7th when we concluded our count on the House floor Joe/
"Biden -- Vice President Joe Biden -- is now President-elect Joe Biden"

McGovern: "So is that a yes?"

Jordan: "Of course it's a yes."

McGovern: "I am asking you to make a statement that the election was not stolen. That's the question."
