How to nurture leads to maximize conversions

What is lead nurturing?

Lead nurturing is a lengthier sales funnel that aims to take prospects from being aware of your offer to becoming a client
Why should you nurture leads?

Agencies that nurture leads, increase sales by 50% whilst lowering cost per lead by 33%

So, not only will you close more clients but it will cost you less to do so!
1. STRUCTURE YOUR FUNNEL AND BREAK IT DOWN INTO STAGES

Example:

#1 - Aren't aware of your offer
#2 - Aware of offer
#3 - Have engaged
#4 - Interested/Identify if a buyer
#5 - Reassurance/social proof
#6 - CLIENT
2. DEFINE WHERE LEADS JOIN THE FUNNEL

Decide when/where leads will join your funnel for instance:

- Leads that open all emails, connect on LinkedIn & respond

Are best placed in stage #3 whereas leads that

- Didn't, open, connect or respond

Are best placed in stage #1
3. ASSIGN LEAD SCORES TO LEADS

To help with the above, attribute a lead score to prospects based on actions you determine

Example:

1. Not interested
2. Responded
3. Interested
4. Considering
5. Deal

You can then automate where they join the funnel based on their lead score
4. BUILD YOUR FUNNEL

Here we'll look at how your funnel might look based on each stage....
4a. AREN'T AWARE OF YOUR OFFER

At this stage you're looking to introduce your offer to the prospect for the 1st time as they didn't interact with previous campaigns

Include:
- Introduction email
- Send a LinkedIn connection request
- 'bump' email

Make them aware of your offer
4b. IS AWARE OF YOUR OFFER

At this stage leads are aware of your offer (they've opened emails etc)

Include:
- Offer for free lead magnet (relating to your service)
- Free lead magnet (if no response to offer)
- Share case studies

Suggest to do this across email & LinkedIn
4c. HAVE ENGAGED/PUSHING ENGAGEMENT

At this stage leads have either engaged or we're pushing them to engage

Include:

- Cold calls
- SmS campaigns
- Voicemail drops
- More social proof

4d. INTERESTED/PUSH YOUR OFFER

At this stage leads have either shown interest or we're looking to really push the ROI

Include:
- Email selling ROI
- SOCIAL PROOF

We want to identify if they're actually a buyer or not whilst using social proof to bolster our offer
4e. REASSURANCE

If a lead still hasn't become a client or shown positive interest, this is the final stage to convince them

Here you want to address any hesitations

Include:

- Messaging that addresses previously identified hesitations
- Spell out the ROI
4e. CLIENT

By nurturing leads and using a basic funnel as we've just gone through, you WILL increase conversions and land more clients

NOT ALL leads will respond or become clients and that's fine, focus on those that will!

Check all records include

- ‘First Names’
- ‘Company Names’
- Other essential data points
- Delete unnecessary columns
CHECK FOR & REMOVE DUPLICATES

Have a ‘Master’ sheet of all previously contacted leads

- Check current list for duplicates
- Compare list against master sheet to remove leads already contacted

- Set up a Mailgun account

- Add DNS to sending domains
