Originally The UN 2030 Sustainable Development Program was unanimously adopted by all 193 UN member states, including Canada, at the UN Sustainable Development Summit in New York on September 25-27, 2015.

“Harper did not personally attend” the summit—sources describe him as “hesitant” about the process—but Canada was represented by “Christian Paradis”, then-Minister of International Development and La Francophonie, who delivered a statement on behalf of the country during an interactive dialogue on ending poverty and hunger.

It’s well known that Harper was Hestitant about the UN’s Sustainable Developments Program (Agenda 2030).

Unfortunately, Harper LOST the election right afterwards & wasn’t in power for the official implementation of Agenda 2030.
That was Justin Trudeau.
Pierre Poilievre does not support the UN’s Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development or its associated Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). While there is no record of a direct parliamentary vote on Agenda 2030 itself—Poilievre has consistently opposed key policies aligned with its objectives, especially those related to climate action (SDG 13), clean energy (SDG 7), and sustainable economic growth (SDG 8).
During his 20+ years as an MP, including his time in Harper’s cabinet, Poilievre has voted against environmental and climate measures over 400 times, supporting such initiatives only 13 times.

For example, in September 2025, he voted in favor of a Conservative opposition motion criticizing an oil and gas emissions cap, which aligns with his party’s push to prioritize fossil fuels over stringent emission reductions.

His platform includes pledges to scrap the carbon tax, eliminate green subsidies, and invigorate the oil and gas sector, positions that directly contradict Agenda 2030’s emphasis on transitioning to sustainable energy and reducing inequalities through environmental regulations.
Poilievre has also faced criticism for allegedly feigning ignorance about the SDGs.

Poilievre does not support the WEF either.
