PPKM Level 4 continues until 9 August with adjustments in certain regions - President Jokowi

The government expects the virus reproduction number to fall below 1.0 by October 2021 and to prepare for reopening Java and Bali in September. Currently the infection rate is at 1.5 due to the more infectious nature of the virus.

Vaccinations are to be accelerated in August and September in Java and Bali by more than 3x and until October outside of the two regions with a dramatically increased shipments of vaccines of more than 200 million doses in the next three months.

Minister Luhut said the whole of Java and Bali will impose Level 4 PPKM, with the exception of 12 regencies and cities which will enforce Level 3 PPKM and one regency which will enforce Level 2 PPKM.

Luhut unfortunately did not provide more details saying the areas will be specified in a Home Affairs Ministry decree which will be issued "soon"

All of Jakarta, Jogjakarta, and Bali are still under PPKM Level 4. Most of Java are also still under level 4 but quite a few regencies and cities have been downgraded to Level 3. Tasikmalaya regency in West Java is down to Level 2.
