Got the news of the impending lockdown, and managed to get in to see the doc. With the benefit of hindsight, given the speed that a lockdown and major outbreak could occur, it was silly to leave it this late.
18. He's prescribed IVM & Melatonin for a month. So first hurdle cleared.
But . . . the IVM shortage reported in Canada and Australia is an issue in NZ as well. You'll likely be told it needs to be ordered, with an ETA mid-Sep
19. I went to or called 7-8 pharmacies in my city, including the two warehouses. One pharmacy had enough pills to fill half of my prescription, another had 4 pills (a single dose for a 60kg individual). So it's thin on the ground.
(Melatonin was in stock everywhere.)
20. But wait, there's more bad news. As it's "off label", it's not subsidised. Fair enough, but prepare for a shafting!
Those 3mg tabs cost me $6.5 each, so that's ~$30 a dose (FLCCC twice/wk = $60/wk). The Melatonin came to $40/wk.
This will be out of reach for many.
21. When I was looking at offshore pharmacies, the 12mg pills cost only a little more than the 3mg pills, so if NZ pharmacies start stocking the larger pills, the cost will fall.
They can't though: only the 3mg pills are authorised. Pos. only from Merck.
23. If you're still reading, you probably know that many people in other countries, faced with a lack of supply or prescription, have turned to horse IVM.
At $10 for the same amount of IVM as my $260 pills, you can see why people would buy the horse stuff anyway.
24. This chap in England goes through it in great detail. As he says, this video is for entertainment purposes only.
Problem: UK vet data sheets include excipients (fillers), so he checks it for safety. AFAIK, NZ ones don't. E.g: eatsafe.nzfsa.govt.nz/web/public/acv…
25. That's it for now. In case you missed it, the FLCCC updated their I-MASK+ protocol now that Delta is prevalent. Basically, more frequent dosing, and higher dose once likely at risk.
