This is just one small bit of an ongoing project I've been working on for a while: Class Skins and new class/race combinations. For this specific example, I've decided to play around with some racially-themed paladin skins. This is not necessarily a complete list. (1/14)
First up, Night Elves. Worshippers of elune and inspired by the Night Warrior, these champions of the Moon herald a new age of justice for the Kaldorei. (2/14)
The Order of Embers, looking to completely purge the Drust from Kul Tiras, took inspiration from their Stormwindian cousins. Taking upon the essence of Silver, Liquid Fire, and combat, Azeroth may yet stand a chance against the ongoing Drust threat. (3/14)
Skilled templars of combat, the Valewalkers defend their homeland of Pandaria with their fierce magics to preserve the balance and rid the Sha of Pandaria once and for all.
Craneguards, devoted champions of Chi-Ji, seek to bring hope to the war-torn lands of Azeroth. (4/14)
Lightguards and Lightfangs, forces old and new to Gilneas, were one of few. Though there has always been some devotion to the Light, very few select Gilnean soldiers of the original Order of the Silver Hand remained. Now they look to renewing the Light's Dawn. (5/14)
With Liadrin's Blood Knights and Shattered Sunblades, there has always remained a rift in the teachings of the Light. After the Mag'har's tales of Yrel, and what was witnessed in the Vindicaar, some believe the Light is to be controlled, not called upon. (6/14)
With some Blood Knights exiled for their research in M'uru, it was realised that so too can other Dark Naaru powers be bent to their will.
With the teachings of old former High Elven paladins of the Silver Hand, some Void Elves have begun to attempt to cleanse their void. (7/14)
Connection and discussion with their shu'halo brethren lead to the discussion of An'she and to establish teachings of the Sunwalkers to their united Highmountain Tauren allies. (8/14)
The Forsaken, shattered by a lack of leadership, began to discover new paths. An attempted second Council arose, with Calia Menethil and Alonsus Faol to research the Light, while the Cult of Forgotten Shadows tests new concepts delving into the teachings Void. (9/14)
Research and rivalries between the Goblins and Gnomes lead to using new ways to harness the Light in ways only observed by the Titans. The newly established Mechaknights, Titanguards, and Junkblades use newfound technologies to their advantage. (10/14)
Inspired by the Zandalari and rekindling relations between the tribes lead to an exchange in teachings and culture. Darkspear Prelates of the rebirthed Loa, Vol'jin, enact servitude to defend against the darkness. (11/14)
The Dark Irons wield a devotion to the Elemental Fire, serving as an elite form of soldier. Though some are rumoured to worship Ragnaros, most establish their firm belief and devotion to the new firelord, Smolderon. (12/14)
The Draenei Vindicators are no strangers to the Light, and after a deep understanding and millennia of teaching with devotion to the Naaru are able to harness power befitting their knowledge. (13/14)
And that's all for my paladin race class skin concept for now. I aim on highlighting more concepts, though not each race will have class specific options.
These are my current plans going forward with new class combos and potential highlights in new class skins. (14/14)
also an added thanks to @TheLostCodex for helping me bounce back some ideas that I've had during the course of this project. There's a lot more ideas I have for class skins that I'm hopeful to preview soon. It's been really difficult not to just post these on a whim.
@TheLostCodex adding to this to link back, some of the choices I made and chose to feature in this thread, as there may be questions of why I highlighted some racial spell kits and not others, or chose some race+class combos and not others:
it's looking like in 10.2.7 PTR the addon comms (something primarily used for addons like TRP3) is going to be severely rate-limited server-side, making them effectively unusable. This is going to disproportionately affect the RP community. (1/8)
@WatcherDev @WarcraftDevs
Where many profiles would load within seconds, 1 v 1 tests profiles are around 20-90 seconds. This value increases with the amount of players requesting/sending data. Between 3 people, a test of 2 people request 1 other person's profile made it last 2-3 minutes. (2/8)
2 minutes to load a profile, in an extremely low population test setting, crank that up by 100+.
This is going to literally kill RP addons, full stop. I don't like being hyperbolic, but I cannot stress enough how severely detrimental this is going to be (3/8)
Going over some of these new 10.2 PTR books. Very possible #spoilers More hints heavily implying westward stuff, and a name drop of "Storming Sea". A green dragon attempts to travel above the storms west of Kalimdor and never returns... (1/10)
In the annotated version of "The Old Gods and the Ordering of Azeroth", there were also a few peculiar details I think others caught on to. What if the storming weather is so severe is because of the Old Gods keeping the spirits enraged? (2/10)
Also worth mentioning, in the Chronicle book, it's referenced that there was "Azeroth's main landmass". Peculiar that the annotated book mentions "one *perfect* continent." as well. One of the Titans' ordering, perhaps. (3/10)
so the new store items don't appear to be the encrypted286 armour set sitting in data since 8.3 but they are the new items added in 9.1.5. There's also still a variety of other encrypted model stuff from 9.1.5. So we're still looking at a whole transmog set encrypted still.
this texture which was datamined and quickly encrypted later was called shopgametimebundlelunarnewyear.blp which didn't actually reveal anything. shopbundles915.blp also is also still encrypted which contained a new faerie dragon pet / faerie dragon bundle, and some other bundle.
we still have a "gronn" (uses gronn sounds) mount, some model that has a LOT of unknowns and textures, and another model with fewer unknowns and textures (likely the tiger new year mount). All 3 I believe appear in mount.db2 and of course pets and stuff
yo wait this wasn't even nearly close to everything I had written, this is just the one post that was put on reddit... I had given 2 examples per class except paladins but this just features priest, mage, warlock, hunter, monk, warrior
