First up on #FridayNightZillow: A Kentucky prepper paradise built by a Republican liquor store magnate after OBAMA was elected, complete with a $3M ☢️NUCLEAR/BIOLOGICAL/CHEMICAL FALLOUT SHELTER.
Per the Lexington Herald-Leader, liquor store magnate C. Wesley Morgan said he just wanted to feel safe and also worried about civil war.
He later served one term as a GOP state rep, where, per the paper, he sponsored bills helpful to liquor stores.

Morgan ran against Mitch McConnell in last year's GOP primary, winning a little over 6% of the vote. The house was featured during a previous listing by Zillow Gone Wild, prompting the newspaper story, which is worth your 99 cents.
This is a LOT of Mountain House food for hiding out from whatever Obama was going to unleash.... Strawberries, anyone? #FridayNightZillow
The top of the megamansion above the bunker is nicer than most, and comes with 200 acres in case, I suppose, you need to fend for yourself and rebuild society after the apocalypse.
House also comes with its own natural gas wells - I DID say it was a prepper paradise - plus underground propane tanks, water tanks, water well, generators, geothermal, 100-yard escape tunnel, backup escape tunnel.
They probably could have cleaned the garage, assuming that's what this is #FridayNightZillow. I for one would rather have seen some pics of the sweet escape tunnels!
I assume the tanning bed -- I think that's what this is? -- would be helpful if you are stuck underground for a year waiting for the radiation to die down? #FridayNightZillow
Things are cheaper in Missouri. $298K buys you 5BR, 2BA, 2K sf, *6 acres* and a Tatooine-inspired exterior. The interior is as boring as they get, sadly. But I promised affordable Star Wars, and I deliver #FridayNightZillowzillow.com/homedetails/10…
Sweet pool, but really, if I'm spending close to $8M I don't want green tile. The kitchen is excellent. Sort of a Chipotle restaurant vibe? #FridayNightZillow
Up next, a fantastic megamansion in Orem, Utah. It's amazing and over-the-top, but you'll want to hire somebody else to clean these sinks.
$5.68M / 4BR / 9BA / 13+K sf #FridayNightZillow#SinkZillowzillow.com/homedetails/13…
Homes this size and cost basically all have these mini-movie theaters these days. I guess you don't want to have somebody say "you spent SIX MILLION DOLLARS on a place and DIDN'T EVEN GET A MOVIE THEATER?" #FridayNightZillow
The rest of the house is exactly as you'd expect for an $11M house for either a bookie or a sports gambler. When only six screens will do! #FridayNightZillow
A few more pics #FridayNIghtZillow. The next Vegas house is much more insane.
$15M is pricey, sure. But your guests' eyes are guaranteed to bug all the way out of their heads. #FridayNightZillow
This bedroom is just insane. It just screams "VEGAS" to me. But in a good way. #FridayNightZillow
I am a little confused by this. Is it a bathroom? A tube of some sort? #FridayNightZillow
Condo fee is only $4,579 a month. Jeez. #FridayNightZillow. I think it's time for some affordable housing. Plan to wrap up tonight a little later with a mansion once owned by a guy who was convicted of trying to fix an NFL championship game. #HistoryZillow!
AFFORDABLE HOUSING is still available in America. Punxsutawney, PA. Have a place to stay on Groundhog Day. $35K. 3BR, 1BA. Appears to be habitable.
Estimated payment $188/month. Cheaper than renting storage, or a parking space in DC. #FridayNightZillow zillow.com/homedetails/12…
This next house used to be a jail. It's not amazing, but the price sure is. $78,900 in Wisconsin for 4BR, 3BA. Hope you don't mind jail vibes! Estimated monthly payment: $459. #FridayNightZillowzillow.com/homedetails/82…
Victorian, 4300 square feet for, checks notes, $95,000!!! What am I missing here?
Warning: the pics will make you want to spend $95K to hire Marie Kondo to declutter the heck out of it.
I'm not sure my eyes will recover quickly from this New Jersey house. Pink, pink and MOAR PINK. Nice exterior and pool. #FridayNightZillow Found by my sister-in-law: zillow.com/homedetails/71…
Wife just found mansion w/*INSANE* /nightclub basement complete with pole, lights, masks on bathroom wall. Plus purple grotto, swim-up bar. It's bonkers. $6M, New Jersey #FridayNightZillowzillow.com/homedetails/43…
Totes normal to have a pole in the middle of your basement surrounded by lights, some Blues Brothers mannequins dancing. Plus, of course, remember my rule: If you're spending $6M on a suburban mansion, it's gotta have a movie theater. #FridayNightZillow
Wrapping up #FridayNightZillow w/a Palm Springs mansion "originally constructed for Jerry Zarowitz, of Caesar's Palace"
He also was convicted of trying to fix an NFL championship game. Sinatra and two presidents (unnamed) hung out here.
If you made it this far, let me know which homes you loved, hated, loved to hate. Otherwise, see you in the next one and thanks for reading! #FridayNightZillow

Two years ago, Congress considered banning 18-20 year-olds from buying AR-15s and other semi-automatic rifles after the Uvalde massacre, and some Republicans were briefly open to doing so but ultimately blocked including a ban in the bipartisan gun bill signed by Biden.
Then-Florida Governor Rick Scott signed a law raising the age to buy guns in his state to 21 after the Parkland massacre, but then opposed doing the same for the nation as a US Senator. He told reporters it was easier to do it at the state level.
McConnell actually enacted a law one day to raise the age to buy cigarettes to 21. But he didn't want to talk two years ago about a proposal to raise the age for buying rifles.
Soaring cost estimates for extending Trump tax cuts set up a crucial 2025 fight:
*CBO puts tab at $4.6 Trillion over next decade
*Fight comes with US debt far higher than 2017, interest costs ballooning & Social Security cliff looming...
w/@chrisjcondon bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
*Trump wants more tax cuts, along with massive new tariffs — aka a tax on imports — that would raise consumer prices but offset at least some of the cost.
*Biden wants to extend breaks <$400K a year paired with higher taxes on corporations and the wealthy.
If past is prologue, Congress will again play Santa Claus. With a few exceptions, Congress has repeatedly increased spending and cut taxes since 2001.
Tonight's #FridayNightZillow is kicking off with a *House of the Year* contender. It's amazeballs! We just need to crowdfund $2.795M. We get 9,825 square feet of sheer madness on 36 acres in gorgeous Plymouth, Minnesota! I love it!!! INSANE sinks, WEIRD art, WILD ceilings, AMAZING kitchen, views, colors galore, a pond, a party shower and much, MUCH more. Several of you sent me this gem! 🧵 zillow.com/homedetails/51…

"What happens in jail stays in jail" lol. Jail-bar pillows are a nice touch. #FridayNightZillow
One of the scarier things I've seen on Zillow. Let's hope this is a prop and not an actual electric chair. #FridayNightZillow
Ozempic can be produced for less than $5 a month, a new study found, but Danish company Novo Nordisk charges Americans $968.52. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
Bernie Sanders insisting the company charge Americans no more than it charges Canadians for the same drug.

McConnell helped nix:
Roe
Campaign finance reform
Individual mandate
Medicare dental & vision
Dream Act
$35 insulin cap
Minimum wage hike
Flag burning amendment
Making Election Day a holiday
Public option
SCOTUS filibuster
Pro Act 1/6 Commission
Oil export ban
Cap&trade
Tax hikes
Vast majority of laws since 2007 have had either the acquiescence of McConnell or his outright support, with notable exceptions, like the Affordable Care Act, the Inflation Reduction Act, Obama stimulus, Biden Covid relief, Dodd-Frank, Lilly Ledbetter, USA Freedom Act, Paygo.
One way to look at McConnell is that he has often had the role of editor of Congress. Empowered by the filibuster and his conference, he had a key veto point in Washington; spending, taxing and legislating had to pass through his filter.
