1/6 UK National Contact Point dismisses as unfounded a complaint by UK Lawyers for Israel against PwC Palestine. UKLFI made inflammatory allegations about PwC’s failure to expose the links between 2 Palestinian NGOs and a proscribed organisation in the UK. bit.ly/3FAuLEN
2\6 The UK NCP found that PwC conducted thorough checks reassuring that its clients were upholding appropriate legal, compliance and ethical standards: gov.uk/government/pub…
3/6 In the complaint to the UK NCP, UKLFI was targeting the Union of Agricultural Work Committees @UAWC1986, subject to continuous smear campaigns for its efforts in contesting land expropriation in the Area C, and once again @DCIPalestine.
4/6 UKLFI has unsuccessfully attempted to smear the work of UK charities and Palestinian NGOs for years. Between 2017 and 2019, the organisation submitted complaints to the UK charities’ regulator which were all rejected.
5/6 On 9 March 2020, UKLFI issued a public apology after being sued in a defamation case (which was settled) for having accused @DCIPalestine of providing financial and material support to proscribed organisations.
6/6 The UK NCP’s decision is crucial to expose the groundlessness of the accusations that lawfare actors as UKLFI weaponise against Palestinian civil society. @CharitySecurity adresses this issue in a new report and offers recommendations do deal with it: charityandsecurity.org/wp-content/upl…

2/5 Within a week, they received a letter from a lawyer demanding that DocP stop the campaign and remove the call from its website, and threatening to sue the association for defamation.
3/5 With the help of a lawyer and the @elsclegal DocP sent letters to the Fiscal Intelligence and Investigation and the Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority, customs (NVWA), explaining the legal basis of its accusation of mislabelling.

#SaveSheikhJarrah #Palestine
More than ever Palestinian rights advocates - whether in Palestine, Europe or other parts of the world - should be able to speak and protest freely. 1/6
For days, Palestinians have been peacefully demonstrating in the neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah in occupied East-Jerusalem against the forced transfer of 4 Palestinian families from their homes being taking over by Israeli settlers with the help of soldiers and Israeli courts. 2/6
The Israeli forces responded to the protests with excessive force and attacked worshippers at the Al-Aqsa compound while settlers continued to harass the families from Sheikh Jarrah and marched in Jerusalem shouting “death to Arabs”. amnesty.org/en/latest/news… 3/6
