Noakhali Massacre of 1946 – More than 5000 Hindus Killed, 3.5L Forced to Convert to Islam, more than 1000 women R@ped.

Massacre started on 10 October,day of Kojagari Lakshmi Puja and continued unabated for about a week.Around 50,000 to 75,000survivors were sheltered in temporary relief camps in Comilla,Chandpur,Agartala and other places.Apart from that around 50,000 Hindus remained marooned.

"The Worst of all was the plight of women. Several of them had to watch their husbands being murdered and then be forcibly converted and married to some of those responsible for their death. It was not despair, nothing so active as that.

Every report gives gruesome accounts of the atrocities meted out to Hindus. Not only were they massacred and starved, they were forced to convert to Islam in the most cruel, inhuman ways possible.

On 29th Aug, Eid-ul-Fitr, a rumour was spread the Hindus are amassing weapons, and several Hindu families were assaulted by Muslims, homes looted. This led to heightened animosity between Hindus and Muslims and it was fully planned by Muslim League.

It was a planned attack by muslim league as they chose a remote location where neither police nor British army reach there. The miscreants planned the massacre with war strategies, digging up all connecting roads, and cutting all lines of communication.

Journalists back from Noakhali reported that,

“The heads of miscreants were Ex-servicemen and they organized the raids in military fashion…The people knew how to dig up roads and cut communication”

British correspondent of The Statesman remarked,

“Experience of the second world war has made my nerve quite strong. But even war is not such barbaric. It is middle age type insanity. And it was given a horrible shape.”

Hindu temples were vandalized,deities desecrated and the structure destroyed.The agenda to convert people to Islam was clear.Disrespect of the places of worship of Hindus was a part of the war on Hindus.The mobs spared no temple in the region and later converted to mosques.

When Muslim mobs are busy with killing poeple,R@ping girls and women in that Area,Gandhiji warned Hindus to flee from the place and asked women to intake poison to save their lifes and to stop the dishonor.

And this person is called Father of nation by some people. Shame.
