BTW North Korea is calling the KN-24 its "Hwasong-11Na type ground-to-ground ballistic missile" (지상대지상탄도미싸일 <화성포-11나>형), where Na/나 seems like equivalent of B since Na is sorta the second 'letter' of the Korean alphabet

Today's SRBM test was from Jangyon in South Hwanghae, JCS says. NK fired a Hwasong-11A (KN-23) from there in March 2023, see below thread.

On today's, JCS said 1 SRBM at 5:05am, then saw a ballistic missile "trail" at 5:15 with no further details yet

JCS updated to say
-1 SRBM at 5:05am from Jangyon, flew 600km toward northeast
-1 unspecified ballistic missile from same place at 5:15am, flew 120km

Must be some reason for lack of details on the 2nd missile, might get another JCS update

No detection announcement from Japan military today. Same for the last launch from Jangyon on the west coast, so maybe location is a factor, but Japan also didn't report CRBM launch from east coast in May

North Korea blurring more faces of officials. This guy seems to have been at a March 2016 nuclear device inspection with KJU (on right), but i'm not sure what his name is nknews.org/2023/03/kim-jo…
@ArmsControlWonk @DaveSchmerler Also not sure what the names of these two are, though they're not blurred and the guy in the first collage is more high-profile (name may be public)
As for the other blurred guys, we've got a 2-star and another 1-star. Unclear if the first guy is the hilariously obscured 2-star from last week (3rd pic)

I haven't seen such a long yet generic Kim Jong Un speech in years I don't think. Focused on ideology, it's just reminders of things from his speeches since the January Congress. People will nonetheless be busy studying it now, and it seems he thinks they need the reminders
Context: He gave a speech at a "lecture" on Sunday Oct. 10, the 76th party foundation anniversary

Unimportant notes:
-He's exclusively worn a suit and tie (not a Mao suit) in his last 6 formal appearances, since a Sept. 2 politburo meeting
-Stage seating arrangement is awkward
Not sure why, but everyone was apparently instructed not to take any notes and to just listen intently to Kim Jong Un during this speech. Typically, we see everyone taking notes throughout his speeches

Should have confirmation on North Korea's recent leadership shakeup shortly, state media has reported that Kim Jong Un visited the Kumsusan mausoleum on the death anniversary of Kim Il Sung (July 8), but is being abnormally slow with releasing images. Stay tuned to @nknewsorg

@nknewsorg In any case, Ri Pyong Chol and Pak Jong Chon remain in the top leadership group despite their respective apparent demotions last week. They're both in the image at Kumsusan with Kim.

Previously unreleased footage of a North Korean missile test released in a new film July 3 on KCTV (of the observation bunker, not test itself)

Most likely one of the failed Hwasong-12 tests at Sinpho in April 2017. How I came to this conclusion below:
First of all, no previously publicized test footage/pics match this particular bunker/scene/attire.

Narrator says it's right after the March 18, 2017 rocket engine test.

Big clue is a missile trajectory map on Kim Jong Un's desk, looked like Wonsan at first but likely Sinpho Image
Here's this map compared to Aug 24 2016 Pukguksong-1 test off Sinpho (top) and May 29 2017 missile test from Wonsan (below). Distortion/angle plays a part, but it's other evidence which also helps pinpoint Sinpho Image
