Vernal's 3D model was a collaborative effort between JayjayBase, @mixed_coffee , and @LyubiZ . Each of them tackled different parts of the process, so let's take a little look at that.
mixed_coffee modeled Vernal's body, face, and hair. Vernal's curly hair was a new challenge, but was pulled off beautifully with just the right amount of fluffiness.
Another thing that made Vernal unique was that she was the first model made with original assets. LyubiZ, who was learning blender at the time, made Vernal's mask and her weapon.
Once the character and her assets had been made, they were passed on to JayjayBase who did texturing and rigging as well as making Vernal's clothes.
Vernal's sheath and weapon especially got some special texture work done, with additional little tidbits and details being slipped in to make it that much more alive.
It was thanks to the collaborative efforts of those three talented individuals of JayjayBase, @mixed_coffee , and @LyubiZ which allowed Vernal to come alive in 3D. She laid a lot of groundwork for future model work as well. Thank you for joining me on this thread, till next time!

For Fixing RWBY Volume 5, we had the special opportunity to animate and compose our very own opening sequence! It was a massive collaborative effort between JayjayBase, @mixed_coffee , and Mollie Rhymemaster for music composition. Now let's take a look at how it was constructed.
First we'll look at some of the storyboards that were made for this intro. The first storyboard was made by both JayjayBase and mixed_coffee, this early concept beginning with a zoom on Mistral. There were plans to use the new Mistral here, but this version of the OP wasn't used.
Another early concept storyboard, this time drawn entirely by mixed_coffee. The idea was to follow a trail of rose petals, panning around to each character. However, it was scrapped due to technical issues.
