We are now officially 3 weeks from Election here is my “Who is who and what is what” list of important races to pay attention to.
VA Gov & Lt. Gov

@TerryMcAuliffe is running for Gov again he served as Gov from 2014-18

@HalaAyala would be the 1st woman elected to statewide office. She’s an Afro Latina & currently serves in the House of Delegates

Their opponents Youngkin & Sears are both Trumpers.
NJ Gov & Lt. Gov

Phil Murphy and Sheila Oliver are running for a second term. Their opponents are Jack Ciatarelli and Diane Allen.

This likely won’t be a close race if people turn out. Phil and Sheila have done a great job governing NJ.
FL20 Special Election Primary

There are 10 candidates running in this race & with no polling since July.

Omari Hardy and
Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick are progressive squad wannabe candidates.

Dale Holness and Barbara Sharief are moderates. I like Barbara and hope she wins.
OH11 Special Election

Shontel Brown won the primary back in August and is going against Laverne Gore a Black Republican. Shontel should win by at least 30+ points.
ATL Mayor

Felicia Moore and Kasim Reed are currently leading in the latest polling with 41% still undecided. Early voting begins today.
Buffalo Mayor

India Walton (DSA) beat current Mayor Byron Brown in the primary. Brown tried to get on the ballot as an Indy but a judge ruled against him. He is now a write in candidate. This race will be wild because he was leading in the last poll

NYC Mayor

Eric Adams will be the next mayor of NYC but he still has an opponent Curtis Silwa. Adams should win by at least 20+ points.
Boston Mayor Race

Michelle Wu - Progresssive

Annissa Essaibi George - Moderate

The city’s 91-year succession of Irish American and Italian American mayors will end, when either Michelle Wu and Annissa Essaibi George elected.
Seattle Mayor

Bruce Harrell - Moderate

M. Lorena González -Progressive

This should be a good race Lorena is a Latina hoping to turn out the Latino vote and Bruce is a Black/Asian American hoping for turn out the Asian vote. May the best person win.
🤞🏽🙏🏽 for my @Arciaga4APS who is running for Atlanta School District 4. She has put in the work and has gained traction. If you want to help her win feel free to donate it’s gonna be a close race.

Possible State Legislature race flips from @moonbeamvotes

@KatieSponsler. @kimmelnyk, and @Debra4Delegate for VA House of Delegates

@AndrewZwicker, @VinceMazzeo, and @DuganForSenate for NJ State Senate

If anyone has other races to add let me know.

@MarkHerringVA is running for re-election.

His opponent is Jason Miyares who is endorsed by Mike Pompeo.

Latest poll shows Herring (D) leading 47% to 41% among likely voters, with 11% still undecided

h/t @RandiWhite for alerting me to add this one.

You can love VP and still be disrespectful to her. If you have a large platform your words matter people listen and you influence others thoughts whether you like it or not.

Caring about VP should mean thinking about what you say and post before you put your opinions out there.
I wouldn’t say half the shit people have been saying about VP & I am no one special. Folks wanting to second guess VP’s staff who are you? Shut up. Fvk anyone who is doubting VP and calling her portfolio trash or too hard. People are just getting to big for their britches.
If the VP thought she would fail she could say NO to an assignment she clearly doesn’t doubt her own skills. Spreading misinformation, talking shit will never be okay especially literally VP is doing a damn good good. Fvk everyone tonight, now I am pissed.

She wasn’t given the lead on immigration she has a specific job — Addressing Root Causes of Migration. Sec. Mayorkas manages immigration.

Voting Rights — her role is to protect voting rights. She doesn’t control the Senate and how does she fail if 2 people don’t do to their job?
She is literally doing what she said she would — meeting with voting rights & community orgs, as well as the private sector. She met with D9 last week & made comments at the votolatino conference last week. Last week they took an all of govt approach to protect voting rights.
On the Root causes on migration she secured money for investments in the Northern triangle. Has visited the border and has done diplomatic work in the region.

Here is some more info on how this misinformation spread. Black Enterprise also picked up on this story and then influencers used it to to go viral. Image
I like Conscious Lee but his info was wrong he did a second video but still wrongly blamed Biden.

He got 13.6 views on Twitter, 178k on Tik Tok and 20k likes snd 15.6k views on IG. He used the Black Enterprise article in his video. The second video on this topic got 40k views. ImageImageImageImage
A few other viral posts

This chick has 17k likes and has 800 followers the bots went HAM on this post. This other chick and Darrell Scott used the Newsweek article. Ayman used the Black Enterprise article. No one used the AP article because the headline wasn’t provocative. ImageImageImageImage

The Newsweek HBCU article is a case study on how social media spreads misinformation.

-Starts with a provocative headline
-People don’t read the article
-Influencers retweet/quote tweet it
-False information spreads
-People are up now up in arms
-No one blames the publication
The author of the HBCU article is in colleges student getting her bachelors degree at an non HBCU, she is white and an intern. Yes an intern ImageImage
Newsweek was once a credible source but lost cred a while ago I alway fact check them. They let anyone write now. Remember when Walter Bragman wrote this 🗑with no sources and bunch of lies. I don’t forget shit. @NovusDivus and I debunked that article is less than 15 minutes. Image

Almost 9 months in, you would think folks would realize who the enemy is but nope it’s more gratifying to talk negatively about POTUS, VP and the majority leader.

At the same time rarely bringing smoke to Manchin, Sinema or the Republicans. That’s ass fvking backwards.
You don’t have to defend every Dem policy or position but if you are constantly pointing out the negative what good are you to the cause. And anyone talking to Politico about VP is trash. I see too many people move funny style and it’s bothering me. You look suspect out here.
Anyways, we have two important Gov races including Black woman as Lt Gov. Hala Ayala in VA and Shelia Oliver in NJ on Election Day. Not to mention Shontel Brown in Cleveland for Congress as well. Please encourage folks to vote. ImageImageImage
