Shall we have a bit of fact-checking?

On Politics Live today, a student from Sussex said that one issue with KS was that she had signed the Women's Declaration of Sex-Based Rights. This student claimed that Article 1c calls to "eliminate trans people in law."
Here is the text of Article 1c:

"States should “condemn discrimination against women in all its forms, agree to pursue by all appropriate means and without delay a policy of eliminating discrimination against women’’. (CEDAW, Article 2).
"This should include the elimination of that act and practice of discrimination against women which comprises the inclusion of men who claim to have a female ‘gender identity’ in the category of women. Such inclusion erodes women’s rights to safety, dignity and equality."
All this says is that the category of "woman" should be reserved for women. It does not say anything about other legal mechanisms of recognising a trans status, if that is what is desired.

p.p.s. I haven't checked the claim about KS signing this declaration. I don't know whether she has or not.

I would say, though, the declaration is all publicly available. Read it for yourself. Don't let other people tell you their interpretation of what it says.
