Before I started my first e-commerce store, I worked for clients to help them build their websites and advertise online.
My clients succeeded beyond my expectations, which inspired me to start my own e-commerce business.
When COVID hit Austria in March 2019, I was also doing recruitment business. I thought that it would end because everything would collapse.
I even got myself a new Tesla Model 3. After driving it around for a few weeks, I thought I could give the car back.
I was having some serious existential fears.
For the first time in a long while, my phone wasn't ringing off the hook. I took advantage of this by focusing on something that had always been a passion: e-commerce and dropshipping.
So, I did some research and found a product to sell which ultimately changed my whole life.
I began advertising my product on Facebook with an ad budget of 3k euros.
The first day after I launched the campaign, sales for my product skyrocketed! 💥
My girlfriend wanted to capture the moment and we celebrated with a gin and tonic. :)
Thanks to my past clients, I knew what was important for growth.
However, there were many obstacles along the way. For example, 1000 orders did not get fulfilled and Paypal placed a hold on our account, and we received around 150-200 emails every day.
But despite this, you know what? I had to turn off the Shopify notifications because they were driving me insane.
It was like my e-commerce store was on crack, and it just wouldn’t stop generating sales.
As of now, my drop shipping store has $708,818.85 in sales since its launch in 2.5 months (the maximum daily turnover is $50k). My branded store has $364,966.18 in sales.
The total of both stores is a staggering sum of $1,073,785.03!
My secret product?
It was a paint-by-numbers kit. During the lockdown, it was the perfect way to kill some time.
The strongest country in sales was the UK and even Buckingham Palace ordered one for a princess. (no joke!)
Facebook Ads tremendously helped, that's obvious. But I also had numerous problems with it in the past, so my goal for 2022 is to shift my focus and become an expert at TikTok Ads.
So as early as 2021, I opened my first test stores immediately with great success from TikTok Ads.
Because of this, I want to document everything here on Twitter as I go on my way to help others on their way.
Thanks for reading my journey. Let me know if this was helpful!
Want to leave your 9-to-5 and start making money online but aren’t sure where to start?
I wrote this thread to guide you through the process and show you all your online business options that work (and will continue to work throughout 2022).
Let’s go!
1. Dropshipping
My personal favorite! And before you get stuck to the whole “dropshipping is dead” mindset, think about it - is online shopping dead? Is eCommerce dead?
No. Then how can dropshipping be dead?
If you’ve tested the dropshipping waters and things didn’t work out, you have to pinpoint the issue:
- You weren’t persistent enough
- You didn’t test enough products
- Your customer service sucked
- You advertised using the wrong platform
- Your ad strategy/creatives sucked
What makes a cross-platform marketing campaign a success?
Lately, I’m testing a more comprehensive approach in sales and spreading to more channels.
This master /// THREAD /// will give you all my knowledge and boost your $$$ 🧵
But, first, why use cross-platform campaigns?
➔ Different platforms are suited for different goals (awareness, sales, etc.)
➔ Consistent branding cross-channel promotes trust
➔ Most effective use of content/visuals for each channel
➔ A broader reach and a new audience
Here’s how to plan and execute your cross-platform campaign:
