5. After 2 weeks drain through cheese cloth and strainer into 6 qt pot. Squeeze all liquid by hand into pot
6. For each bottle of alcohol add 1 bottle water and 1 cup simple syrup (.5 cup sugar/.5 cup water). Stir pot well
7. Pour back into bottles.
8. Share with friends
Also works with wild blackberries, mulberries, Pears, hazelnuts, sassafras, hops and herbs.
You can spend $60-70 on a bottle of Chartreuse (a worthy purchase) or you can make your own for under $7/bottle.
Best digestif around.

A short thread on perfect spring days and God's bounty of wildflowers after a cold winter.

55° and sunny this afternoon. Our Sunday afternoon walk in the woods always cheers us and prompts Thanksgiving.

Start with Spring Beauties. The range of color from white to pink - amazing ImageImage
Then wild Rue Anemone (my favorite). Same from pure white to a deep deep pink. They're so delicate. ImageImage
The first Trout Lilies of the season. The leaves look like an orchid and are variegated like a trout's par markings. The flowers are deep yellow and often point straight down. Luck to see these at photo angle ImageImage
