In the books, the most that's explored are Islamic theological principles according to my research and what I'm writing about. Some of Antione's One Thousand and One nights is in Dune but nothing compared to scale of the Islamic theology.

Even the Orange Catholic Bible elements aren't Catholic at all, but more rooted in Islam. I'll be touching on this in my book in the future hopefully.

In the film I think it will try to be as faithful to the books as possible, so I can see there being a lot of explored details. For example Cielago which comes from Spanish is used by Stilgar and Bardem is Spanish. So it seems they are really focused on detail.
