sqq: yeah binghe is my favorite but qingge has my fave sword
binghe: 😭
qingge: 😳
sqq: what.
i'm just saying sqq recognized lqg's sword INSTANTLY despite him barely being around at all in PIDW and I just think he'd be a Sword Fanboy. xin mo gets negative points for causing binghe distress
qingge noticing sqq eyeing him one day: ?
sqq: can i. touch it
lqg: ......touch what.
sqq: *gestures at his waist*
lqg: WHAT.
sqq: cheng luan 🥺
lqg watching as sqq unsheathes his sword and runs awed fingers down its blade like "why is he. what—what is. why do i feel like i might qi deviate from this"

chrono trigger, kirby superstar, the sims 2, city of villains, neverwinter nights
city of villains remains the only MMO i ever played with any real attention (I was in the BETA of world of warcraft somehow?? do not ask me how. anyway i got mad that orc ladies weren't big sexy enough and quit playing)
there might be big sexy orc ladies in WoW now but in the initial release they were all very skinny and smooth compared to the hulking buff craggy orc men and i, a closeted 13 y/o, was like NO!!!

au where shen yuan's little sister transmigrates into PIDW and falls in love with liu mingyan and ends up helping bingge realize he's gay by seducing all his wives
i think shen yuan's little sister would have a Lot of the same hangups as shen yuan but in a comphet lesbian way where she's like "women are just SO pretty and hot and everyone thinks so but one day I'll find a man I actually care about"
she tries really hard to blend in by being a bingge wife but she is just like. so clearly and obviously not into him and he's like "excuse me what goes on"

i remember when i read tgcf i was like i WILL NOT like qi rong. i just won't do it. and I felt that way successfully through the whole book for the most part. but now looking back on him i'm like ah qi rong.......... he sucks <3
the thing about him is that he's like shitty in a funny annoying way. you know, like when you have a cousin who's a cannibal bully wannabe but at least he's not ruthlessly psychologically destroying you over the course of centuries
sry that I always simp for the pacing of tgcf but he's such a good villain to intro in book 1 bc the stuff he does does feel genuinely horrible & makes you mad but by the time he comes back you're so exhausted by how much Worse things could b that you're like oh it's just qi rong

lwj to sbwy's gfs Image
this is unrealistic unless they have been Rude. if they have not been Rude then wwx is the one telling them
100% of the time this is interpreted as wwx coming out as bi to them and when they say so he's like "what"

feng xin is the Worst kind of dude about not being able to tell whether people are wearing makeup. i like to think mu qing trolls him by putting on more and more ridiculous false eyelashes but doing nothing else to his face
he takes it gradually. eases him into it. normalizes heavy mascara first and then subtle falsies for a few weeks before going progressively more and more ham
he's not wearing lipstick so those HAVE to be his real eyelashes

boring academic thoughts ahead but i think it's really interesting the like trends of western history where you have all of these christian/european sources being like "look at all these terrible things nonwhite cultures do aaah" (being gay, human sacrifice, etc) &
historians at first are like "well this is definitely true!" and then later historians are like "actually none of this is true and is just motivated by racism, no one was gay or did human sacrifice ever" and now we're in the stage of like
"actually some people were gay, and some people did human sacrifice, and we actually have to pay attention to how those people talked about doing those things in order to understand them as specific and nuanced and operating w/in other systems of morality"
