I wouldn't compare Athena Swan to Stonewall. Completely different projects. But yes, at least there wa some understanding that gender is complex and not reducible to a gonad.
Amazingly, of course, The Silenced One would have herself benefited hugely from Athena Swan.
I don't know any woman of colour who hasn't rolled her eyes into a whirlpool in her encounters with Athena Swan but hey ho, to its defense we come. You better remember this next time we raise issues.
We all know an Athena Swan cis White Woman "Leadership" type who is shit on both trans and race issues, & class to boot. So trust me, I'm struggling with this one, but I'll do the right thing
I have to say though that institutional relationships to Athen Swan made me chortle. It's the only race in which it was considered honourable and ambitious to 'go for bronze'. 😅😅😅
Of course, another way to look at it is that it's a big mistake for the troglogdytes to come for Athena Swan as not a few TERFS will be deeply invested in it.
