RACISM TOWARDS BLACK AFRICANS IN LIBYA BY BOTH THE GOVERNMENT AND UNHCR LIBYA.

Today's incident which got one of our brothers stabbed and wounded by the security guards, came slightly after scrutiny of the mess that we have been living in and the RACISM 1/19
that we are subjected to. In recent years refugees have seen and complained against the trajectory of Syrian refugees indulged and pampered by the UNHCR staff.
Syrian Nationals or Arabs precisely do not take or wait in line when they come to the UNHCR office 2/19
both at the door and in the sitting rooms. They are usually allowed to enter ,and no security guards prevents them or stops them, UNHCR staffs & its security guards never told them stand in a line with the African refugees, we have been witnessing these racism since 2017 3/19
until now and it's unnumbered how many times we have complained and reported these but went unanswered by the commission. These are the main reasons refugees are losing trust in the UNHCRLIBYA and the socalled humanitarian organizations or human rights organizations in Libya 4/19
Discrimination and racism is very clear and plainly visible used in the offices, because of they're ethnicity.

There is a secret door at the UNHCR headquarter in the registration main center and only Syrians are allowed to enter, so today refugees of African nationalities 5/19
tried to enter this door, which is the secret door designated for Syrian nationality by UNHCR staff, so the security guards prevented them, and then this led to violence and the stabbing of a refugees by a security guard. We (Refugees) feels that the step taken 6/19
by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees is against humanity and human rights, and this is racism and discrimination between refugees and asylum seekers according to their colors, geography or religions. This must stop in all public institutions of the 7/19
international organizations and the human rights organizations, because there's no place for discrimination and segregation anymore in this era or in the 21st century, let us all stand against the attempting of reusing of RACISM.
The Libyan government and the local 8/19
Libyan UNHCR staffs are considering Syrian refugees as their community, or with due credit that they are from Arab communities, and they have a high place as if they are better than others neither superior, even in the State of Egypt, they work well to Syrian and 9/19
their rights are not violated, as they takes their legitimate rights in full. Even during the campaigns and raids launched by Libyan security devices against refugees and asylum seekers and African immigrants earlier last month, 10/19
the government announced and recommended to its security forces that it should not arrest the Arab nationalities such as Syrians, Palestinians, Egyptians, Tunisians, and Moroccans or Yemenis. The Libyan Prime Minister himself stated that only Africans will be arrested, 11/19
such statements lead to racism and regionalism Between nations.
And until that became to take place by the Libyan local staff of the United Nations high commissioner for Refugees in Libya, they started using that inhuman work within the institutions of the international 12/19
organizations and human rights organizations, so through those steps taken by the government and UNHCR in Libya, African refugees and asylum seekers does not believe in United Nations's organizations anymore; because refugees are seeing the fact with their eyes every 13/19
single day,so Refugees can't trust in human rights organizations in Libya
As a result thousands of homeless refugees have been camping and demanding their legitimate rights in an equal manner in front ofthe UNHCR headquarters for 6 horrible weeks accompanied by starvation,14/19
lack of shelters, access to toilets and sanitation environment until this date. Refugees united and devoted themselves to a mass protest calling for their usurped rights a day after the unreasonable crackdowns and arbitrary imprisonments following the Gargaresh attack. 15/19
Refugees and Asylum seekers have been calling for protections and evacuations to lands of safety and it is not necessarily to Europe, but to any safe African countries that preserves their rights and dignity in a human position, we have understood, heard and seen such 16/19
things that happen behind the curtains and Behind the scenes, then, these reasons are enough for us that we will not return to the Libyan society and will not renew our confidence with the Commission and the Libyan government.
17/19
We still continue to reiterate our calls on states and countries to offer us humanitarian corridors, lands of safety and to join us in this struggle towards Justice, equality and humanity. And we continue to request the law, authorities and international criminal court 18/19
to bring the perpetrators to justice and hold them accountable for the crimes caused against refugees, asylum seekers and migrants/ Humanity at large”
