"The Shared Values for All Mankind is a powerful critique of the Western theory of Universal Values"- Feng Jun, ex-member of the Institute of Party History and Literature of the Central Committee, provides yet more proof that China's attempting to undermine universal values.
1/n
Feng sees "universal values" as a Western-centric construct concocted by the capitalist Christian bourgeoisie, which he describes as "hypocritical and exclusive, and a form of institutional and cultural hegemony and arrogance."
Feng accuses the United States and a few other Western countries of imposing their so-called "universal values" on other countries, even when these values are incompatible with local civilizations, and of waging wars and "color revolutions" to do so.
The solution is Xi Jinping's own "Shared Values for All Mankind" for building "a Community of Shared Future for Mankind." As a result, China contributes to the creation of a world that is safe, prosperous, inclusive, clean, and beautiful, free of fear, poverty, exclusivity.
It rejects the bourgeois core values (such as liberty, equality, fraternity, and democracy), the political and economic capitalist models (such as separation of powers, multi-party systems, and universal suffrage), and the ethical codes and ettiquete that underpin them.
Instead, it proposed that "only by adhering to and practicing the Shared Values of peace, development, fairness, justice, democracy and freedom for all mankind, can a Community of Shared Future for Mankind become a reality."
Excerpts:
"The proposal of Shared Values for All Mankind is a powerful critique of Western theory of Universal Values.
"It breaks through Western centrism and discourse's hegemony, rectifies the West's public opinion's smear and denigration of Chinese values, and holds the moral high ground in international political theory and international relations practice.
"As we all know, we reject and criticize the West's 'Universal Values'. Why do we criticize 'Universal Values'? Because these values were never universal in the first place;
"they embody many of the particular political and economic concepts and models of the bourgeoisie and capitalist societies and they reflect the discourse hegemony of a few powerful countries; to describe them as universal or universally applicable is deceptive and hypocritical.
"The Shared Values of All Mankind proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping are diametrically opposed to the 'Universal Values' promoted by a few Western countries.
"The US and a few other Western powers are the originators, advocates, and manipulators of "universal values," whereas China is the originator, advocate, and driver of the shared values of all mankind, representing the interests of China and other developing countries.
"At the same time, our proposal for Shared Values for All Mankind is the best critique of certain Western politicians and hostile forces who smear China's values; it takes the moral high ground and breaks through the West's political arrogance and discourse hegemony."

2/
"Of course, literature and art serve as sources of entertainment and consumption, but they are also expressions of a nation's spiritual quality, spiritual treasures, and spiritual energy, which embodies, enriches and enhances the audience's soul.

Aside from a series of essays and a 40-episode podcast on the topic, Wen has now published a new book titled "The Logic of Civilizations - the Game between Chinese and Western Civilizations and their Future".
On the occasion of its release, nationalist platform Guancha funded by billionaire Eric Li interviewed Wen to discuss his egregiously Han supremacist and racist worldview (Yes, Wen has also made overtly antisemitic comments in the past on the record, in case you were wondering👇)
