“Muhammad was a well-traveled man. He probably picked things up from other cultures. Maybe he even plagiarized from earlier scriptures…”
Let’s talk about it. | A THREAD
Knowing a few things others didn’t does not equate to accurately foretelling detailed events...
→ Decades ahead. → Consistently.
→ Centuries ahead.
Not just once. Not just twice. But consistently. That’s exactly what Prophet Muhammad ﷺ did.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ made prophecies—many of them.
- The fall of the Persian Empire (against all odds)
- The rise of barefooted Bedouins competing in skyscrapers
- The global preservation of his message despite relentless opposition
- Islam reaching lands that no 7th-century Arab could've imagined
The ʿulamāʾ are heirs to the Prophet ﷺ in offering guidance to Muslims regarding how they can best adhere to the Qur’an and Sunnah. Muslims have historically recognized how and why the ʿulamāʾ serve this crucial social and spiritual role in their communities.
This understanding has been challenged by the systematic collapse of Islamic civilizational infrastructure in recent centuries. This ummatic condition provides the crucial context in which questions about the relevance of the ʿulamāʾ arose in the first place.
1. Make the intention to observe the day in worship. Intend to fast, even if you cannot. Allah inshaAllah, will still accept from you.
2. Fast. Allah rewards the Muslim who fasts the Day of 'Arafah with forgiveness for the sins committed in the previous two years.
3. Start the day off with Hajj. Pray Fajr in congregation, remember Allah until the sunrises, then pray 2 rak'ahs of Duha. This provides the same reward as Hajj. Then, spend the last hour of the day (before Maghrib), remembering Allah.
