Ok so I called Rep. Ro Khanna's office. His DC office is closed due to COVID so the only option is to call his Santa Clara office at 408-436-2720. If you press "4" you are supposed to be connected to a person from their office but it went to VM for me. You do have the ...
... option to leave a VM with your contact info for a callback within 48 hours. For California residents I would highly encourage that option. For out of state residents you can choose "3" which allows you to voice your opinion on "any issue" and promises that the ...
... Congressman will be made aware of it. I highly encourage Indian Americans to call, the most effective calls will be from those who live in his district (which covers several notable Silicon Valley suburbs), then California residents and then Indian Americans outside of CA.
Here is a rough approximation of the message I left:
"Hi, my name is XYZ, I am an Indian American immigrant calling to highlight a recent controversy on which I would like the Congressman to speak out on our behalf ...
... is he aware of the xenophobic comments on Twitter by Silicon Valley Tech CEO Melinda Byerley who runs the Digital Marketing Consultancy Fiddlehead? ...
... in her Twitter thread on Monday she she called out prominent Indian American VC Vinod Khosla by name and then went on to extrapolate her vile criticisms to non-white tech immigrants ...
... who she accused of being "parasites" and racist parents who are "determined to stop their children from learning the history of race in America" ...
... she went on to accuse them of disliking the American system and wanting to turn America into a caste system or apartheid state like the countries they came from ...
... she called for such parasites (her words) to be prevented from gaining in a foothold in American communities and called them “strip miners” who ruin everything ...
... prominent Indian Americans such as former FCC Chairman Ajit Pai and Biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy have already condemned and criticized her bigotry and I hope the Congressman will do the same. Thank you."
Obviously feel free to give it your own flavor. We don't want his office to feel like it is a astrotruf operation want him to realize how grassroots this is.
The most important thing to do is call and try to get a live staffer by pressing 3. Leave a message regardless. If they get even a dozen calls daily they will be forced to react and take a stand.

Defense calls for mistrial as Kyle Rittenhouse takes the stand in his homicide trial npr.org/2021/11/10/105…
My weakness is crime fiction and years of reading some of the finest exponents of court room trial dramas and police investigations such as those of @ScottTurow and @Connellybooks have left me more prepared than the average citizen at understanding the nuances of ...
... what happens in criminal trials. The tactics of the Deputy AG Thomas Binger today suggest both desperation and frustration. If you had the defendant on the stand for pretty much the whole day and got nothing of substance ...

A number of people have asked me why I am giving so much attention to an "unknown" person like Melinda Byerley @MJB_SF. The reason is because she is *not* unknown. She is a well known source for media outlets on Tech, Women in Tech and sometimes just random things.
She is frequently quoted in prestigious outlets such as NYT and FT on the expected topics and by others on random topics, e.g. Bloomberg News (on COVID testing) WSJ (on an old Foodie article in 2013).
She clearly has cultivated relationships with the Blue checkmark journalism crowd and many reporters know her - she is Blue check herself on Twitter not an easy status to get. Yet none of these reporters who are so quick to pounce on xenophobia in other instances ...

Dear Ritesh Tandon @tandon4congress I am reaching out to you to highlight the racist and xenophobic remarks on Twitter by prominent Silicon Valley Tech CEO Melinda Byerley who is often quoted in the press on gender issues in the Tech industry. She is a high profile public figure
... who on Monday tweeted a noxious thread on Twitter calling non-White Tech immigrants "parasites" who should not be allowed to gain a foothold in American communities. She clearly meant Indian Americans since she quoted prominent Indian American VC Vinod Khosla by name.
Unfortunately your former electoral opponent in California's 17th District and incumbent Congressman @RepRoKhanna has maintained a studied silence despite several attempts to reach him. If Rep Ro Khanna will not stand with the Indian American community in the ...

Dear Retired Congressman @RepMikeHonda I am an Indian American immigrant reaching out to you because the current incumbent of California's 17th District @RepRoKhanna has maintained a studied silence on a major controversy on anti-immigrant hate speech.
As someone who felt the sting of the most vile kind of xenophobia and experienced internment camps for Japanese origin citizens who were deemed not quite 100% Americans I hope you will support us.
Silicon Valley CEO Melinda Byerley who runs digital marketing consultancy Fiddlehead on Monday posted a xenophobic tirade against non-white Tech immigrants. She accused them of being "parasites" who should be prevented from gaining a foothold in American communities.

Ok Indian American peeps here is a new game plan for the Wretched CEO Ms. Melinda Byerley @MJB_SF who heads up the digital marketing consultancy Fiddlehead
@FiddleheadHQ
She has taken her account private, her key employees have scrubbed their Fiddlehead affiliation from Twitter Bios ... her strategy is clearly to wait it out and let the energy of her critics pass and then slowly emerge from the shadows when everyone has forgotten about this ...
... one problem for her strategy is that she likes being in the news. Search for her name and you will see her providing quotes to lots of Tech journalists. So here is how we can play wack-a-mole when she inevitably resurfaces in public life ...
