What I've learnt from the past few summers of being a camp councillor is that kids that have a similar personality like Dal are tough but until they become outright bad they can be flipped to be leaders if the other kids like him. #StarTrekProdigy 1/2
2/2 The tough kid has to be outright bad for it not to work. Obviously he's currently coming off as a bully but also don't forget he's a kid!!!! 2. There's also the bully to best friend hypothesis, which I'm an example of but I've heard other people talk about similar situations.
To be clear he needs to grow up quickly bit I think he will with a good mentor like Janeway.
Additionally, I see leadership in his future but he's coming at it from a misguided direction. Remember, he's ostensibly been in a manipulative isolated environment for most of his life so as he's learning and growing in a more open nurturing environment he'll get better.
Everyone can have their own opinions and I'm ok with that but people should also think critically.
And also, in real life awful leaders make the best (at least productivity) leaders, think Steve Jobs or many others that I can't think of at the moment as it's 2am.
Are there any psychological and child developmental professionals who'd like to comment?
