It's weird to hear the media sort of whining about how other than Bannon, the other's claiming executive privilege may have stronger claims. That's nonsense.
We spent 4 years with Don McGhan and Bolton's deputy, Charles Kupperman, in court challenging their requirement to testify based on executive privilege claims. It's been adjudicated.
SCOTUS has already ruled that there is no privilege that protects Trump admin staff particularly when crimes or national security are at stake. Individuals cannot assert them privilege; the administration must assert it.
And at the time, THEY WERE ACTUALLY EMPLOYED BY THE WHITEHOUSE AND STILL LOST.

It's already been decided. That ship has sailed. So why are folks acting like this is brand new, and that the wheel needs to be reinvented?

Rick Grenell needs to be arrested for interfering with foreign policy, particularly as it relates to Russia and eastern Europe. He is nobody and has no authority. That takes on even great priority as Russia is moving assault troops on the Ukraine border.
And, who is funding these trips and Trump's attempt at a running a shadow government anyway?

We got in trouble in 2016 because the Logan Act was treated like a joke by Mike Flynn. They're doing it again because there still haven't been any serious consequences.
We, as a nation, need to stop pretending like it's a joke or it's funny. It's deadly serious. The administration must take it that way and act accordingly.

It's kind of funny, but yesterday I had a lady castigate me because I didn't believe something said in court during the Rittenhouse case. Well yeah, that's kind of the whole point. I don't believe any of his defense.
When:

- You show up with a gun somewhere you shouldn't be and you can't explain why,
- Your own mother lies about your change of address,
- The judge is working harder for your acquittal that even your attorneys, and
- Your defense is paid for by the KKS and neo-Nazis,
and you willingly participate with them as they propagandize the murder and trial making you a hero

Then you may be entitled to a trial, but you kind of forfeit your presumption of innocence.

That doesn't seem unreasonable to me.

Who authorized the media to qualify Trumpist violence, lawlessness, and insurrection as "mainstream?" They may disagree, but every time journalists call Trumpers and their representatives mainstream it essentially endorses and condones everything that comes along with Trumpism.
That then normalizes those individuals and their actions within and as part of society.

It isn't, and they're not.

At the point where the majority of Americans are domestic terrorists, insurgents, anti-fact and anti-reason zealots, then Trumpism will achieve mainstream status.
Until then, the press has a duty and responsibility to actively avoid lazy, dishonest, inaccurate, and dangerous nomenclature, and the rest of us have a responsibility to call them out on it every time. If the press is the first draft of history, then we must not base it on lies.

FOR THE RECORD:

Because it's already happening, let's address it now and dispatch with the BS.

Once again, the GOP will use Solyndra b!tching and scare tactic to undermine all aspects of the infrastructure bill concerning global warming. We need to stop them in their tracks.
Back in the mid 2000s, Solyndra costed on the order of $500 million, but it failed in part because the price of solar dropped so precipitously that the project became non-cost effective. It was driven largely by the influence of the Chinese solar market,...
...which the USA dragged its feet, didn't invest, and allowed their dominance to happen. Yet 2 days of war in Afghanistan costed $600 million.

People like @JamesCarville would have progressives shut up and give away the store to help Manchin keep coal business paycheck and placate the lobbyists, and allow Sinema to curtsey and scrape before Big Pharma, despite the fact that it's progressives supporting the Biden agenda.
There are a lot of reasons that McAuliffe lost VA. But he same kind of invective and despisement that Carville openly displays to progressivism is the same thing that no doubt many voters - especially younger voters - picked up from McAuliffe.
People don't care about big names in campaigns, they want to know what you are going to do. So far because of Manchin and Sinema, too many people believe it will amount to nothing. That obviously has to change and the voters have to come out and vote.

JUST CURIOUS:

- What's stupid about expecting and demanding that police don't violate our civil rights?
- What's stupid about expecting voting rights to be protected in a democracy?
- What's stupid about the LGBTQ needing to be treated like human beings?
- What's stupid about women having agency over their own bodies and lives?
- What's stupid about trying to reduce if not eliminate child hunger?
- What's stupid about a living wage?
- What's stupid about being worried about global warming and demanding something be done about it?
- What's stupid about environmental justice?

Being "woke" is being a living breathing body who has an interest and deep worry about all of the above - and want them fixed. It's about wanting things to be better - and even an earth that's habitable - for our kids.
