This is horrendous spin. His list of places is just listing off places that would have been benefitted before anyway. So cynical.
Beeching klaxon for a suggestion that this is in any way a replacement for the improvements HS2 and NPR would have brought.
He keeps saying "biggest improvement" when this just isn't true given that this £96bn figure is over the next how long? How much of it is new work? None of it. #RailBetrayal
.@JimfromOldham responding robustly - sadly I fear it will be for nothing. It is all a done deal and I don't think Treasury will U-turn on this one.
