The ultimate hack to climb the corporate ladder as used by most top-level Executives WORLDWIDE!
Enter the Side Door.
Let's deconstruct...π π π (1/17)
Let's Set The Stage. Imagine it's Friday Night.
You're done for the day.
It's been a long week. Your team just released a critical update.
You're tired, want to relax. (2/17)
On the table, there's a flyer with an advert for "party of the year."
You get there but then run into a huge problem.
There's always a problem π...(3/17)
There's a massive lineup.
Now...You do what most people do.
Stand in line in the freezing cold for an hour.
Time is running out so you start to worry and get tensed (4/17)
In hurry, you call a friend who got in somehow.
- Is there room inside? (Is the company hiring?)
- What did you say to the bouncer? (What were the Interview Questions?)
- Can you talk to him for me? (Can you refer me?)
- Is my ID going to get me in? (Am I qualified?) (5/17)
You leave your destiny up to the fate of the universe.
You Forget
Universe favors those who ACT!
This is what most people do in their career
They take the front door.
Result?
They get to the bottom floor
And notice another HUGE LINEUP for the Elevator.
What to do? (6/17)
If there's a HUGE LINEUP
Forget the Front Door
Enter THE SIDE DOOR
But Finding the Side Door requires Effort
If you're not up for that
Take the Front Door
For rest, let's go back to our party π (7/17)
The Side Door is usually Hidden
It's in some alley in the back.
It is not obvious. You have to find it.
When you find it you may even have to jimmy the lock (8/17)
But what happens when you're in through the Side Door?
You're 1 of 1 trying to get in.
Not 1 of 10000
And look what's waiting for you.
THE OPPORTUNITY
You're in the same playing field but with different rules. (9/17)
Now here's the thing about the Side Doors - they aren't "just sitting there," waiting for you.
You need to think outside the box to succeed.
Most folks give up there.
People that enter by the side door usually have a great desire to solve problems. (10/17)
Almost all if not all positions at the executive level are filled like this.
What's cool about it?
It works for anything you're after.
Let's look at an example (11/17)
Applying for Scrum Master role
Side Door:
- Research the company you like
- Figure out what process they follow
- Read a successful case study
- Create a list of suggestions
- Send it to the Hiring Manager (Not HR)
What will this do? (12/17)
Where other candidates rely on the answers to generic questions you have something more practical.
Something that can solve their problems,
even before they tell you what their problems are. (13/17)
The Side Door relies on 3 things that I really believe in.
1. Life's finest opportunities are typically self-made.
2. Changing the rules in the game shifts the chances in your favor.
3. Creative, Persistent and AGILE THINKING is ALWAYS Valued. (14/17)
Most people seek unique results in their lives.
The problem is that they take the same road as everyone else in their attempt to get there.
Lesson: Don't choose the generic route if you want an extraordinary result. (15/17)
This thinking helped me and save my life on numerous occasions.
I sincerely hope it helps you as well

Tim Cook is best known for being the HEAD of the Most Iconic Company in the World - Apple
But very few know about how he got there.
This is the story of Tim Cook and HOW he managed to became the CEO OF APPLE.
π§΅π
1/ Aside from building multi-billion dollar firms such as Apple and Pixar, Steve Jobs was the most charismatic business person throughout his term at Apple.
So, why did someone like Tim Cook become his successor?
As a Leadership Coach, I needed an answer.
2/ Cook was the polar opposite of Jobs.
Quiet and introverted, he had a background in OPERATIONS and DATA ANALYSIS rather than PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT.
They Leverage both their Vision and their Blind Spots.
Such leaders need the vision to guide them, yet their blind spots frequently drive them to think outside the box, giving them a FEELING that they can succeed.
