Sometimes I remember how friends and colleagues shit on me when I called out Glenn Greenwald years ago. Laugh and laugh.
h/t @wokbonds
They aren’t friends or colleagues any more. Thank you God

I have been disabled off and on for about a year by a genetic illness that affects eyes & face from which I am now recovering. I’m thinking today about others’ expectations of my abilities and me feeling bad about not being able to meet them. I’m choosing to let that go now.
I’m going to have the illness for all my life but the idea is to keep it dormant, the same thing with breast cancer, no evidence of disease today. Sometimes words meant to be supportive can be super discouraging, I feel bad that I’m not healing fast enough for them.
The reason I got sick is biology. The reason I’m getting well is biology. Other people’s feelings about where I’m at today in my healing process is psychology. And it ain’t none of my fucking business

It’s so good this morning. Raisins, a little spice, honey and malt and sesame. Cloud poof with a perfect crust and raisin payloads ImageImageImage
Turmeric to make it a little extra golden, instead of food coloring. Cinnamon and freshly ground grains of paradise, just enough to cover the turmeric and add a warm, exotic undertone
The dough color inside is warm gold.
