Right so... I just wrote 10 pages of a plot outline to an A/B/O #xicheng #NieLan #Mingcheng role reversal where Lan Xichen became the demonic cultivator... 👀👀 My brain wouldn't shut up and now I am stuck with a plot outline and no idea on what to do with it.🤦🏻‍♀️😅

A small bit since @wxyz_xicheng seemed to like it.

Xichen and Mingjue are childhood best friends/have feelings for each other, but don’t act on them because they don’t believe the other likes them like that. It's super rare for same-sex male alpha relationships as territorial

instincts and no chance of children.
Jiang Cheng comes to Cloud Recesses and Xichen doesn’t understand it but he likes to annoy and fluster JC because he thinks his scowls and reactions are adorable. (pulling pigtails of your crush as the saying goes.) Throughout their time in

Cloud Recesses despite Xichen annoying the fuck out of Jiang Cheng they sorta/kinda become good friends. When JC leaves he gifts Xichen a purple and blue tassel with a tiny clarity bell attached to the end of it for his flute Liebing.
Also sometime before Meng Yao left Cloud

Recesses after dropping Huaisang off, JC found him being bullied by a couple Nie disciples and kinda laid into them and defended Meng Yao. (This slowly kinda makes Meng Yao start to admire him.)
Archery Competition in Nightless City
After getting lost and stumbling upon Wei

Wuxian and Wen Ning who helps the both of them, Xichen finds Jiang Cheng hanging out and laughing with Huaisang (a beta) to close for his own liking and is subconsciously jealous once again at their close friendship.. During a break half-way through the tournament (after 1st

going and teasing Jiang Cheng until the point he is rage shooting stuff and is actually beating Wei Wuxian, Wangji, and Xichen due to his utter rage) Xichen finds Jiang Cheng again much to Huaisang’s and Mingjue’s disapproval. He teases him and accidentally pulls Jiang Cheng’s

courtsey bell off his sash, not knowing that the Clarity Bell is just like his head ribbon.
Jiang Cheng in utter humiliation, hurt, and anger throws his bow at Xichen’s feet and in tears run’s off and into his sister’s arms who gives a frightening glare to Xichen. A frowning Wei

Wuxian and a disappointed Huaisang explain to a clueless Mingjue and Xichen the meaning behind the Clarity Bell much to Xichen’s mortification and guilt.
Mingjue proceeds to find Jiang Cheng and offers his apologies on his friends behalf and asks if there is anything he could do

to help. Jiang Cheng snaps and tells him to keep Xichen away from him before storming off.
Jiang Yanli explains that her brother is only hurt at the moment but will come around eventually as he is secretly tofu at heart, though she shows her great displeasure at Xichen’s actions

for hurting her didi. Mingjue tells her he understands as he would feel the same if someone did such a thing to his own brother.
The competition ends with Jiang Cheng in 4th place even though he quit half-way through.

The Burning of Lotus Pier
Wen Xu shows up and demands for Jiang Cheng’s hand in marriage or watch their library burn to the ground. (Wen Xu ‘fell in love’ with Jiang Cheng when he saw the beautiful omega run off crying due to Xichen’s actions.)
The clan obviously refuses.

Yu Ziyuan and Jiang Fengmian fight and are killed by Wen Xu and Wen Zhuili as Wen Xu ordered him to briefly come to his aid instead of guarding his brother.
Yu Ziyuan slips Jiang Cheng Zidian as Yanli and Wei Wuxian try to save what they could of the library.
In the chaos of

fleeing the siblings are separated as Yanli and Wei Wuxian flee towards Meishan. Everyone who has a Clarity Bell flees to a protective underwater cave. Jiang Cheng is caught to save his fellow disciples who are children (his omega instincts acting up) and his arm is broken.

Wen’s Indoctrination Camp and Killing the Tortoise of Slaughter
The Qishan Wen Clan sends a summons to Gusu demanding that twenty junior disciples from all of the major clans to attend their training, claiming that the other clans teach poorly and waste talent. Lan Wangji (omega)

quickly declares his wished to attend knowing/worrying about Wei Wuxian (alpha) and the fact with their father in seclusion that Xichen needs to stay and lead the clan.
Lan Xichen refuses much to his brother and uncle’s protest and decides to go to the Indoctrination camp as he

is secretly worried about Jiang Cheng and wants to amend their friendship. Lan Xichen sends a letter to Mingjue about attending and Mngjue’s response is for him to be safe and to please look after his brother. Once there Lan Xichen notices no one from the Jiang Clan as he softly

speaks to a worried Huaisang who is concerned for his two friends alongside Wangji.
Then Wen Chao mockily states his future brother-in-law put up quite the fight and then to Xichen, Wangji, and Huaisang’s horror they watch as Wen Diciples drag a bruised and scratched up Jiang

Cheng to the front where he is clutching his broken arm.
Xichen tries to help Jiang Cheng but his ignored or told off as Jiang Cheng uses Huisang as a shield. Xichen ends up pissing off Wen Chao and due to Lingjiao being jealous of Jiang Cheng’s beauty has Jiang Cheng thrown into

the cell with the giant dog despite Wen Xu’s clear favor of Jiang Cheng.
Wen Ning comes to help to Jiang Cheng after having a brief talk with a remorseful Xichen and a furious Huaisang. After surviving the dog Wen Chao finally takes everyone to the cave for the night-hunt. Goes

the same way, but Jiang Cheng is demanded to be used as bait and is saved by Xichen. Xichen and Jiang Cheng become trapped in the cave. Jiang Cheng uses Zidian to strangle and kill the Tortoise of Slaughter while Xichen crawls into the shell and plays the song of turmoil.

(Xichen pockets the resentful sword) Xichen learns of the fire on Jiang Cheng’s home and of his missing siblings. The stress of Jiang Cheng’s wounds and losing his home causes his heat to happen which in turn makes Xichen start his rut.

They have sex and Jiang Cheng unknowingly gets pregnant. They are saved by Lan Qiren and Nie Mingjue. Huaisang fleeing to Mingjue for help and Wangji to Qiren.

Massacre of Cloud Recesses
Wen Lingjiao and Wen Chao show up to Cloud Recesses demanding that Xichen be punished and Jiang Cheng be handed over so he can be given back to his betrothed. Lan Qiren refuses and

calmly states Jiang Cheng and Lan Xichen were already mated and soon to be wed.
Filled with embarrassment and rage, Wen Chao sets off the signal. Nearly everyone is killed, expect for those who escape to Lan Yi’s cave. Lan Qiren, Lan Xichen, Lan Wangji, and their father escape

and head towards Qinghe.
Due to being in seclusion for so long, and without truly practicing his cultivation skills, Qingheng-jun falls ill much to Lan Qiren and his son's worries. Lan Wangji sets out to find medicine when the other three fall asleep. Xichen wakes up, and in

fear and worry runs out of the inn and spots Wen disciples heading towards his brother. He causes a distraction and flees, only to be caught by Wen Zhuliu, who lies and says that they’ve recaptured Jiang Cheng for Master Xu.
Once captured and realizing it was a lie, Wen Chao

tortures Xichen and his core is melted before he is then thrown into the burial mounds on request of Wen Xu for taking Jiang Cheng as his.
Wen Ning finds the inn and Wangji and informs him that he learned from his sister that Xichen was captured and tortured, but she doesn’t have

any other information about his brother, as Wen Chao mentioned nothing else. Lan Wangji, Lan Qiren, Lan Qingheng-jun, and Wen Ning arrive to Qinghe. Wen Ning, on behalf of Lan Wangji and Lan Qiren’s testimonies, said he is a traitor to Wen Rouhan, and sought asylum and help with

the healing, while his sister finds a way to help their branch of the clan flee underneath Wen Rouhan’s nose.
Lan Wangji, Lan Qiren, and even Lan Qingheng-Jun are stunned when they find a pregnant Jiang Cheng not knowing that Lan Xichen’s knot took during an out-of-control heat

and rut. Jiang Cheng calmly states his child is the heir of his clan, and he refuses to give up his title as Jiang Sect Leader, and that Xichen and he are barely even friends, and neither had control of what happened.
During his time in Qinghe, after escaping the cave, Jiang

Cheng got closer to Mingjue, who was slowly teaching the pregnant omega teen the ropes on how to be a sect leader. Mingjue slowly became fond of Jiang Cheng and his blunt, honest, and spitfire attitude.
Jiang Cheng is also reunited with his siblings and clan members who survived

the burning of Lotus Pier. He is thankful to learn that Meng Yao saved and hid his siblings. In a rare show of pure gratitude, he hugged Meng Yao. Everyone begins to get ready for the war.
After waking up in the burial mounds, Xichen recalls a conversation he had over tea with

Jiang Cheng about Wei Wuxian theories on Demonic Cultivation. He struggles and learns how to survive in the burial mounds. He melts the sword down and takes black jade from a cave, and blends them together to create an ebony-blue xiao he names Shiyue, meaning eclipsed moon.

Despite the many protests of others, Mingjue and Jiang Cheng wander off to try and find Xichen leaving Huaisang in charge of Qinghe (much to his displeasure and worry) and Jiang Yanli as acting sect leader (much to her and wei wuxian worry and displeasure for their didi and

future niece or nephew).
During the first three months of the Sunshot Campaign, Jiang Cheng and Mingjue search for Lan Xichen, and finally find him severely changed and using demonic cultivation. Mingjue and Jiang Cheng grow even closer during the three months, as Jiang Cheng’s

omega instincts seek out the alpha of their child, and Mingjue, who was deeply fond of both of the child’s parents, had his own alpha instincts going haywire as he helped take care of Jiang Cheng. Xichen is stunned to find Jiang Cheng pregnant and coated in a mixture of his scent

, stating clearly his knot took the one time they spent their heat and runt together all those months ago.
SUNSHOT CAMPAIGN
Jiangling Front: Jiang Cheng is displeased by Xichen’s use of demonic cultivation, and only allows him to be around him for a few moments in fear of the

resentment he uses could harm their child. Despite their problems, they both continue to work together and with their brothers in the Jiangling front. Although Jiang Cheng and Lan Xichen maintain a working relationship, they frequently argue over the latter's methods. Jiang Cheng

believes Lan Xichen has completely changed from the person he was once known as, and the fact he caused too much bloodshed in his methods, as he would have tried to be strict and careful when fighting with his allies beforehand. Nie Mingjue at one point comes to help maintain

their cooperation.
The war continues, and during it, Jiang Cheng gives birth to Lan Jingyi. Huaisang and Nie Mingjue become his godfathers. Meng Yao furthers his friendship with Jiang Cheng by helping him take care of his son when he needs to attend his sect duties and fight in

the war. He falls even more in love with him because Jiang Cheng is still friendly to him and verbally tears apart anyone who bullies and is negative towards him.
When Meng Yao turns traitor and leaves, Jiang Cheng defends him by stating they didn’t have all the facts and that

Meng Yao had a legitimate reason to do what he did, much to the displeasure and annoyance of Xichen and Nie Mingjue. (Meng Yao sends hidden letters about the war to Jiang Cheng, who recognizes his handwriting.)
During the war, tension between Xichen and Jiang Cheng increased as

now Jingyi is involved, and Xichen barely allows himself to spend time with his son in fear of hurting him. Jiang Cheng takes this as the fact that Xichen, much like his own father, doesn’t care about his son. Mingjue tries to meditate between the two he’s grown to care for, but

it does not help.
Flower Banquet at Koi Tower
They win the war, and during the banquet, Guangshan offers to reinstate the marriage between Yanli and Zixuan, and offers Jiang Cheng to marry his other son, Jin Guangyao. (who is pleased and hopeful though doesn’t show it.) Xichen

loudly scoffs and leaves the hall much to his uncle and brother’s frustration.
Jiang Cheng politely turns down both marriage offers, stating his sister can choose for herself, and that while he respects and cares for his friend, he does not want to tie them both down in a

loveless marriage.
Jiang Cheng leaves and gets into another argument with Xichen to the point he’s in tears as he hugs their son to his chest. Nie Mingjue quietly witnesses the whole conversation and feels a heaviness weigh down on his chest and shoulders.
Night-Hunt at Phoenix

Mountain and Incident at Qiongqi Path
Jin Zixuan and Yanli reinstate their marriage after he confesses to her. And Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji confess they have also eloped, causing Lan Qiren to nearly faint, but Xichen to have a brief moment of happiness for his brother.

Jin Guangyao with Jiang Cheng’s help tries to calm down Zixun, who is pissed off at Lan Xichen, who “stole” all the prey from everyone else. He unknowingly played the xiao harshly because he witnesses Nie Mingjue kissing Jiang Cheng and confessing to him before turning and

fleeing.
Jiang Cheng kindly turns Mingjue down, stating he is in no position to currently have a romantic relationship with anyone. Nie Mingjue stares at him knowingly and states he loves Xichen. Jiang Cheng becomes embarrassed and blurts out that he loves the two of them equally

before fleeing.
Unknown to the two of them after Xichen fled, Meng Yao spotted them and heard their confessions. Furious and jealous later that night, he visits Jiang Cheng and asks if they could become sworn brothers, as he sees him as his didi and Jingyi as his own nephew.

Jiang Cheng agrees and suggests Nie Mingjue and Lan Xichen join, so no one is cut off.
Guangyao explained that while it would be nice to be on friendly terms with Mingjue, it would backlash badly on Mingjue, Guangyao, and Jiang Cheng, along with their clans, if they swore

brotherhood with Xichen. Also, since Jiang Cheng already had Jingyi, which would make others accuse him of trying to favor another sect unequally. Jiang Cheng reluctantly agrees.
Mingjue agrees to the sworn brotherhood.
Xichen finds out and becomes hurt, but also well aware of

the terrible rumors happening around him and how it slowly affects his rebuilding clan. Wen Ning, who had been helping since the war, shows up in frantic terror with his bruised and battered uncle four, who kindly begs Xichen to save his niece Wen Qing. Xichen, realizing

something terrible is about to happen, calmly writes a letter explaining he is leaving the clan and passing down the sect leader position to his brother before he removes his head ribbon and leaves after sending the letter off.
Xichen finds to his horror what the Jin’s have done

to the Dafan Wen’s that Jiang Cheng, Mingjue, and he vowed asylum to being tortured to near-death or just dead. Wen Ning finds the naked and dead body of his sister, who was raped and then beaten/whipped to death. Xichen in his fury raises Wen Qing and slaughters the Jin

disciples there, before fleeing with the rest of the Wens to the Burial Mounds.
At the banquet, Jiang Cheng faints in shock when he learns what Xichen has done and the fact he left his clan when the letter arrives along with the one-lone Jin disciple that survived.
Life at the

Burial Mounds and the Birth of Lan Yuan and Jin Ling.
Jiang Cheng briefly the burial mounds with Jiang Jingyi a few weeks later, and finds Lan Xichen and the remaining Wens struggling to survive. He also finds out how Xichen is trying to bring back the consciousness of Wen Qing

much to his displeasure.
Wen Qing wakes up, and Jiang Cheng using his Clarity Bell helps Lan Xichen calm her down and reawaken her consciousness. Jiang Cheng then after eating a brief meal explains his sister’s wedding and the fact that both she and Wangji were expecting

simultaneously, and that Wei Wuxian is splitting his time between Lotus Pier and Cloud Recesses to help. Xichen is both delighted and dejected that he will miss another life mile stone of his brother’s. Jiang Cheng leaves after giving a brief and somewhat gloomy goodbye.
A few

months later, Xichen and Wen Qing meet Mingjue, who brings Xichen away to meet someone. Xichen steps into the inn and comes face to face with Wei Wuxian, who holds his newborn nephew in his arms. “Xichen-ge we know were breaking a few taboos here, but you know how stubborn

Lan-er-gege can be once his mind is made up.” Lan Xichen gently holds Lan Yuan in his arms and weeps with both sadness and joy when he learns they wanted him to give their son his courtesy name. Lan Xichen recalls Jiang Cheng, Jiang Jingyi, of Mingjue, and his home, and all the

hopes and dreams he once had that burned to ash when he turned to demonic cultivation and lost his home. He names him Lan Sizhui before leaving with reassurance that he is invited to the joint one-month celebration in Koi Tower.
the death of Lan Qingheng-Jun, and Bloodbath of

Nightless City
A month later, Xichen is with Wen Qing, and they both are ambushed in Qiongqi Path as they make their way to Koi Tower by Jin Zixun and other various disciples from other clan’s. Surprisingly, Nie Huaisang and Lan Qingheng-jun show up to try and prevent the ambush

and escalation. Huaisang notices another xiao being played, and before he realizes it too late, he is shoved out of the way, and Lan Qingheng-jun much to his son’s horror is killed by Wen Qing with her fist through his chest.
Jiang Cheng and Mingjue do not want to show up, and in

Lan Wangji's heartbreak he doesn’t either, but they all meet in Nightless City and vow to take down Xichen. Xichen shows up and a fight breaks out. Lan Qiren shows up on the battlefield. (he is still heavily injured from before the war, and grief-heavy from losing his brother and

nearly everyone else.) Lan Qiren dies taking a blade meant for Xichen. Lan Xichen in utter horror snaps and loses control. The last thing he sees is Jiang Cheng and Nie Mingjue’s pleading faces before his brother in utter grief shoves him off the cliff. (he purposely trips)

During the 16 years
Jiang Cheng returns to the burial mounds and finds everyone dead, but Wen Ning and a hand full of children Xichen managed to place underneath a protective barrier before his death. Jiang Cheng takes them back to his clan and hides them among his people, and

makes them change their Wen name to Jiang.
Jiang Yanli returns to Lotus Pier after Jin Zixuan renounces his position as sect heir, as he learns that his father played a role in the downfall of Xichen among other things, but is unable to prove it. Jin Zixuan marries into the Jiang

clan, and he and his son become Jiang Ling and Jiang Zixuan.
Jiang Cheng knows a few of his disciples, and his actions displease people of trying to defend Xichen in Nightless City, but also siring his child. Jiang Cheng orders his sister to whip him 33 times for each disciple of

his harmed in Nightless City. Jiang Cheng then enters seclusion for a few years.
Jiang Jingyi, Jin Rusong, Jiang Ling, and Lan Sizhui all grow up together.
Jingyi struggled a lot due to mix reactions he got from people due to the fact both his father’s were Sandu Shengshou and

Zewu-jun. He also struggled with self-loathing and hate for himself and his father, who killed both his cousin and his granduncle and grandfather.
I know that Rusong is actually the biological child of Jiang Cheng and Jin Guangyao, who briefly kidnapped Jiang Cheng and forcefully

had sex with him. After he gave birth and healed, he drugged him to completely forget where and who he had been with for months.
Guangyao murders Huaisang. Qi deviation due to the gradual poisoning Meng Yao did to the Clarity Bell he wore given to him by Jiang Cheng to help ease

his mind. Huaisang is murdered when he is caught redhanded by finding out by an oblivious Rusong who told the truth of who was actually his baba. His body is the one Jiang Cheng, Mingjue, and Xichen go searching for unknowingly for a while.
