Ahrefs and SEMrush are more advanced and pricy IMHO if you're starting.
0. Keywords research
Spend hours looking for keywords that bring monthly visitors with little competition.
Short-tail keyword = video
Long-tail keyword = how to make a video
Long-tail keywords are easier to rank and help you rank on short-tail keywords in the long-run.
1. Use the Google Search Console
In the early days, it helps you rank faster on google.
Pro-tip: you can index manually your pages to accelerate the process.
2. Do netlinking (aka link building) on your site
Netlinking is like building a wikipedia on your site.
It means that you have to connect every content together.
For example, each of your blog post link towards at least another one.
3. Post a tons of content regularly
Google will look at your site everyday.
If it doesn't see updates at least every week, you will not rank on the keywords you target.
Pro-tip: improving past content is taking into account by Google algorithm for ranking purposes.
3. Build domain authority with backlinks
Backlinks = a site has a hyperlink towards your site.
No-follow = means Google won't take it to raise your domain authority
Do-follow= means Google will raise your domain authority
Conclusion: look for do-follow backlinks.
TL;DR 1. Do keywords research 2. Use the Google Search Console 3. Link your on-site content together 4. Post a tons of content regularly 5. Build domain authority with backlinks
