Portman Hunt
Woodbridge Mill, Bedchester

(Video is on two parts and continues in next tweet.)

Out with North Dorset Hunt Saboteurs, we started the day by pre-spraying some foxy areas as the hunt gathered at Woodbridge Mill, Bedchester. The... (1/15)
usual hi-vis clad stewards/security/sab-stalkers on their yellow quads were in attendance, tasked with following us around and relaying our locations to the hunt. With this in mind, foot sabs split into pairs to ensure there was always at least one foot team without a... (2/15)
minder.

The huntsman left the meet at 1115 and hunted the brook and fields behind the meet. He was immediately faced with sabs in all directions and moved on very quickly, drawing blank as he left the area.

Next he went northwards to Kit Hill, an area known by local... (3/15)
sabs for its plentiful foxes. Sure enough, a fox was soon seen running for their life away from the pack of hounds, spotted first by a monitor, then by a pair of NDHS sabs, then by a pair of our sabs as they bolted past Gore Farm. Our foot team ran into the field to... (4/15)
cover the fox’s tracks with citronella and were immediately accosted by the paid day-glo brigade, who were not at all bothered by the crime in progress by their employers (illegal fox hunting) that they were facilitating. We were escorted to the roadside verge as the... (5/15)
huntsman took the hounds into the field the fox had just run through. The stalkers then tried their best to block our cameras and obstruct our access to the gates. It was almost comical having grown adults jump up and down and wave their hands around whilst we filmed.... (6/15)
A deer was put up by the hounds and they refused to clear the way to the gate for them to escape.

The hounds then picked up on the fox’s scent and followed the line through the hedge into the next field, which contained extremely young calves. Sabs rated the hounds... (7/15)
and cracked whips to call them off and slow them down. One sab ran into the field to pull them away with the gizmo but was swarmed by a group stewards.

The hounds were taken further north and another fox was hunted across the B3091 near Guy’s Marsh Prison, glimpsed by... (8/15)
one team of foot sabs. This caused havoc on the roads as some hounds followed the line one way across the road, others took the heel line going back across the road in the direction the fox came from, and still more skipped around near farm buildings and across fields.... (9/15)
Traffic was held up as horses and hounds cavorted backwards and forwards across the lanes. NDHS have photos of this disgraceful selfish behaviour in their hit report.

The hunt then made their way south back along the brook towards Woodbridge and across fields to... (10/15)
Twyford. Here they picked up on another scent and briefly followed a line but were called off by sabs. At this point the huntsman started to become desperate and dismounted to encourage his hounds on foot as he took them through another brook. However, one intrepid... (11/15)
foot sab stuck with him to ensure he didn’t get up to anything dodgy, whilst others made their way to the valley in case any foxes bolted.

In a final draw of Penhil Copse, hounds went into cry and sabs heard hunt support shout “Charlie!” from the road. Sabs rated the... (12/15)
hounds to slow them down once more as they darted towards Bedchester and they lost the line. The hunt headed back to the meet and packed up as it started to get dark at about 4pm. Yet another very busy but successful day done for our sabs, who retired to enjoy some... (13/15)

Duke of Beaufort’s Hunt
Leighterton, Gloucestershire
This frosty morning we joined CIHW at the Beaufort Hunt, the prestigious hunt most famous for shooting their hounds in the head and leaving them to suffer for minutes. They met in... (1/12)
Leighterton, Gloucestershire, from where they took heir hounds to an outrageously dangerous first draw – a strip of trees bordering the busy A46. Traffic was held up as point riders trotted along the road but luckily no foxes or hounds ventured onto it.

seemed keen to cover a lot of distance, was he trying to avoid the extra foot sabs behind him in the field? After a few quick draws of some smaller coverts he ventured several kilometers north to Ledgemore Bottom. Foot sabs ran inland as hounds spoke briefly, but once... (3/12)
