There must be something in the air! I've seen three new websites showcasing sustainable / low carbon website design over the past week. I didn't know of a single one before! ๐
Here they are in one thread as these are just ace! ๐งต
Site purpose: "We want to showcase those websites that prove you can have a well-designed, accessible internet presence, but with a low carbon impact on the planet"
๐ greentheweb is by Sandy Daehnert, and the site is in english and german
Site purpose: "Browse through lightweight, user-friendly, aesthetic and sustainable UX/UI designs of the web. Each of the listed websites has a minimal digital footprint..."
The site's purpose is "This directory of lightweight websites has been created to inspire actors of the digital industry to design and build lighter and greener products."
Know of any similar resources like this not in this list?
Please let me know if you do (in any language) as it's fun and important to share great resources like this with others ๐
A quick point of clarification on this... What I think is new and exciting about these 3 sites is that they are showcasing lots of low carbon sites in one place. They are directories of good examples, which I haven't seen yet, and I think we'll all find really useful...
Reducing the CO2 emissions of websites is a great way to take action on climate change. For other suggestions on meaningful action, please listen in to our @GreenTech_SWest panel discussion on Thurs 9th Dec. It's online and all are welcome ๐
