An excellent piece. I suspect the CRT moral panic will also fail. But I take no comfort. The goal is to use these panics to seize power, and it works, and if individuals associated with the panics fall, the conservative movement just moves on to its next repressive furor.
Wish I had any idea how to shift the culture away from panic hopping in service of repressive politics. I do not.
Thank god it’s Friday.

We need so much more cancel culture. So very very much more.
Mel Gibson is the one for me that breaks my spirit, but I bet if it’s Louis CK or Marilyn Manson or any of those other shit humans.
Just like… there are edge cases where it’s complicated and nuanced. This ain’t it.

Thanksgiving meal post: eat and cook things you like.
If cooking things that have sentimental meanings but don’t taste great make you happy, do it!
If cooking things that aren't traditional but make you feel good is what you want to do, do it!

I am so excited about the 2024 election.
I'm so glad it's being covered already since it's clearly the next big election.
Nothing between now and then will happen that will make the 2024 election story change, so we should spend a lot of time covering it now.

So Bari Weiss is ok with FdB raving "the rabbis will be chased from the temple" because, I guess, antisemitism is fine from her pals.
Antisemitic tropes are, I'm told by people like Bari and Batya, not ok at any time.
except when freddie does it because gosh darn it, he's just one of those guys!

"There is no mention of the enslaved people, like Abigail, who were bound to labor in the founders’ Parisian households. No site explains that during John Jay’s time in the French capital, while he brokered the new nation’s freedom, he also dealt in the unfreedom of others."
One cannot tell the story of America without the story of slavery and the long consequences that remain with us.
and any attempt to do so is bad history.

the people who knowingly covered for Cuomo should also experience serious professional and social, and perhaps legal, consequences.
I've been thinking that all day.
