The reasons why were sketchy and vague.
Ashworth was of course Shadow Health Secretary at the time, and it was understood that he pulled it.

@Catheri22274003 @Keir_Starmer @JonAshworth @ge @TUSCoalition The campaign for the NHS Reinstatement Bill were quite diplomatic about it at the time - probably hoping that by remaining civil they could continue to pressure Ashworth and other Lab MPs to do the right thing.
But the bill was never heard.

The fact that Ashworth wasn't pushing for it the whole time when the HoC had fewer Tory seats (2017-19) - to me that speaks volumes
