Conservatives continue to misunderstand the very basic observation of my article: it's not a problem for our democracy that Joe Biden is unpopular. The problem for our democracy is the *disconnect* between their policy preference, self-interest, & voting intent 
Look, I realize Republicans don't think this is a problem, &, in fact, they rely on it, but if senior citizen's primary concern is his social security check & financial insecurity, he should not be voting for Republicans. It's bad this connection has not been made for him.
Now, maybe this interviewee is just making stuff up. But the fact of the matter is that polling shows voters like him do exist. Republicans have the largest midterm advantage since 1981 & they *oppose* the agenda that most voters support. *That*'s the problem for democracy
I would be angry if Biden had low favorables. I would be angry if voters hated BBB. But at least I would feel like we were fighting on fair ground. The issue is the decoupling. 40% approve of Biden & 58% approve of BBB & 63% approve of BIF. That shows us something odd is going on
The media is demonstrably doing specific things that *could* drive this phenomenon. Voters aren't aware the issues they care about are in the bill. They do know the cost. Voters enjoy the CTC, but only 29% attribute it to Biden. The media *rarely* describes Republicans as agents
It's hard for me to imagine that voter preferences wouldn't be different at least *at the margins* if these problems were addressed. Imagine how some non-partisan/light-partisan voters might feel if they saw the following headlines: alternet.org/2021/11/media-…
I never expected my article to make conservatives so angry. I'm not sure why it's had this effect, but I find it bit delightful that they seem to care so much. It's also funny that none seem to understand the premise is not "Biden's approval bad" but that there is a *disconnect*
