#BTSxAMAs @toojazzy25
👨 Usually we say they wrote K-pop history or it's a first for Asia and so on. But I'd like to say--and this is not an exaggeration--that they wrote new pop music history and an event that'll be recorded on a new page in pop music history has occurred. +
👨 The AMAs this year, if you look at the format, the structure, or order, you can tell that, "Ah, they totally prepared this for BTS." Almost like the ascension of a prince, you can see how it was prepared like a symbolic ceremony bc, like you said, BTS started the opening +
👨 And because they didn't want to lose them, "We won't lose them!"
👩 "We won't lose them! ✊ Yes."
👨 For that reason, they placed Butter as the last song, didn't they? Basically, it demonstrates that this year's AMAs was a ceremony for/about BTS, from the format onwards. +
👩 Honestly it made me think, "What would have happened if they didn't have BTS this year?"
👨 Actually for some years the AMAs and BBMAs, similar also for the Grammys, these major music award ceremonies that drive the pop music industry, if they don't utilize BTS's fame, +
👨 --BTS, if you think about it, they're these foreign artists, artists that they helped but didn't raise themselves--these artists called BTS if you don't utilize their fame, you'd be in a difficult situation. You can really see this in the viewership numbers. +
[They talked about US viewerships before/after BTS and conversation shifted to the Grammy noms and how this brought great joy but also disappointment bc while the nom is an incredible achievement that'd be difficult for other Artists to replicate, Butter could've gotten more.] +
👨 When you think about the immense popularity of Butter this year and the continuing phenomenon of BTS these several years, it would not have been strange to see Butter nominated in what we call the main categories such as Song of the Year or Record of the year. +
👨 And yet they weren't nominated and so many people's disappointment. There is a perspective that asks, "Is this BTS's loss or is this the Grammys' loss?

[He said that if you look at the other nominees, Butter would fit well, that the Grammys are trying to change as can be seen in many ways but he has a feeling Butter was draped (by the earlier ways) somehow. The nom is still very historic and they agree a main nom was imminent. +
He relayed that the overseas opinions were similar to his, that the AMAs were for BTS, that their stage was the highlight of the night, that they were snubbed by the Grammys. They discussed the Weeknd's snubs and how Grammys are being criticized for not nominated BTS more. +
They finished by discussing the PTD concerts, how SoFi is one of the largest capacity stadia in the US, and how the seats were all sold out during the pre-sale and scalper tickets are going for nearly $10K. They hoped for concerts in Korea next.]
This is a livestream so I'm not sure if you'll be able to find his segment, but I believe it was around 9:45AM KST (7 hours ago). 💜

7Fates: CHAKHO was announced today to be the upcoming new BTS Webtoon/Wattpad series. It is inspired by Korean historical figures called the Chakhogapsa. Here's a short thread on who they were to provide some cultural context for the stories to come. +

The mountainous Korean peninsula was home to a great many Siberian tigers that killed people and made daily life difficult for both villages and cities. They were seen as monsters. A record from May 1402 showed that hundreds of people were killed by tigers in Gyeonsangdo alone. +
This problem became so prevalent, that during the Joseon period, the Chinese people had a saying that Koreans spent half the year hunting tigers and the other half being hunted by tigers.

And so, during this era, a new kind of hunter emerged who specialized in catching tigers. +

Businesswire reports what 7Fates: CHAKHO with BTS will be about. "After growing up together through a series of trials and tribulations, they must become a unified group of 7 to unlock their destiny... an urban fantasy story set in the near future inspired by the 'Chakhogapsa'."
7Fates will be released on WEBTOON and Wattpad on January 14, 2022.

I am quickly going through a couple articles and videos on the Chakhogapsa and so far the funniest description is: The Joseon Era Witchers. 😂
Guys, I don't really know what Wattpad is. 😅 Judging by some of your responses, I'm getting the sense that maybe I should be scared?

Some sweet moments at The Met:

When Joon said that this was an art piece he liked, the First Lady said to people, "Our BTS aren't just good at singing, they're not just good at performance. They actually have a deep appreciation for art exhibits and they study a lot as well."

The gentleman who was escorting them gave the Tannies a thumbs-up and the video editors made sure we knew: "Indeed our Special Presidential Envoys for Future Generations and Culture".

[TN: They abbreviated it to "Future Culture Special Envoys".]

When they came to this part of the gallery, Joon recognized the piece as one done by Yoon Gwangjo, a much respected ceramic artist. The First Lady said, "Isn't it wonderful? I think our tastes are similar." 🥺

[Joon's Speech at the Met Museum]

I am @BTS_twt's leader, Kim Namjoon. I'm afraid you might not be able to hear me because of the helicopter, so I'll speak loudly. Firstly, the Metropolitan Museum is a place I really love in New York and I took a +
picture here 2 yrs ago when I came to visit myself. I am so honored to be able to speak with you like this on such a beautiful day, next to this artwork that I love very much, Corte's mobile. Truthfully, I nearly forgot what I was going to say because of this view, but I'll do +
my best to keep going.

Really, my heart is fluttering from coming here this time around with such a public responsibility. As I visited the Korea Gallery earlier with the First Lady and distinguished guests, I was overwhelmed with emotions and had many different thoughts. +
