Reflecting upon the past year and several months, going through photos, anyway here is my one consistent hobby!!!
My grandma was a hairstylist. She and her sister owned a salon. My grandma didn't get married until her thirties or have kids til her late thirties, which was WILD in the '50s. I wanted to take cosmetology in high school but it conflicted with less useful classes like math.
Anyway I was raised in hair salons in New Jersey. My parents are two cans of hair spray. The end?
Per queries re: the wall decor - this is "my" bedroom in my parents' home, and my mom frames the covers of every magazine in which I have a story published. It is very sweet. This was during my six blonde weeks earlier this year. Hire me to write for your magazine!

I want to interview people who have tales of Christmas/Hannukah/NYE Holiday Mess AKA drama (nothing traumatic, just good old-fashioned "what the fuck just happened" family/friend shit) for a mainstream site. Not doing it on Twitter. Don't DM me. Email sara@sarabenincasa.com. Thx!
Anonymity granted upon request. Not looking to embarrass you or your family! Just looking for some great stories to make others think, "Well, shit, at least my family Christmas ain't THAT messy." Again, just email me, no DMs. Thanks!
If you RT this thread or send to family/friends with good stories, it would be a big favor and I'd appreciate it a lot!

I am listening to the Bible on audiobook and I can't believe they let kids read this.
I will now livetweet the Bib - just kidding.

Just finished "Meditations" by Marcus Aurelius and I'd say "People are fucked up and we're all gonna die, be kind and deal with your own shit" is a good philosophy.
Thrilled in advance about the men who are going to explain how my take on Twitter dot com is not comprehensive and academic in nature and then suggest a podcast to me.
Sometimes they do it here, other times they pop up out of a random bush or from within a garbage can to alert me to their superior takes. It's the most basic pumpkin spice latte philosophical treatise (and I like that too!) but Ryan will have his take and he feels I must know it.

When things are terrible and I don't know what to do, I take heart in the fact that there are those folks who do. Here's a thread celebrating some of them. Please remember them in your year-end giving (or your year-round giving). First up: @eji_org EJI.org
Get to know @SentencingProj and send them some money or boost their work up if you can. sentencingproject.org
