No, @NatalieElphicke, stopping the boats leaving is *not* the best way of dealing with the crisis. Providing safe legal routes for people to come to the UK, and a fast efficient claims process for asylum seekers, is by far the best way.
@NatalieElphicke If you were really interested in ending people smuggling, @NatalieElphicke, you would advocate for safe legal routes and fast efficient claims processing. But you don't, do you? You advocate for stopping people coming here, not making it safe and legal for them to do so.
Also, @NatalieElphicke, under international law asylum seekers are not illegal immigrants, regardless of how they arrive in this country and what UK domestic law says.
The changes that the UK government is making to UK asylum law appear to violate international laws.

The Home Office has failed to put in place the "safe route for Afghans" that it promised. Our Afghan friends have been abandoned in Afghanistan, where they face death, or neighbouring countries, where they face destitution. Please call out @pritipatel for her lies about this.
"The scheme is not yet open. Please check this page regularly. Further details will be announced in due course".

Last updated in September. It is now November. Nothing has been done.

Imho the Home Office has no intention of opening this scheme.

gov.uk/guidance/afgha…
I do not think @pritipatel ever had any intention of providing safe routes and asylum for Afghans at risk from the Taliban. I believe she lied to our Afghan friends, to Parliament and to the British people. Please call her out for her lies and deceit.

Today is "drain and re-line the pond" day.
Though I'm surprised how pretty it still looks even in its damaged state.
Emptied and levelled with sand...

I don't see how I could make this any clearer.
there seems to be a group of people who deny that there is any such thing as "trans", and who therefore think that people who see themselves as trans need therapy to help them come out as gay.
But their belief is faith, not science. It is no more possible to argue against them than it is to argue against evangelical Christians who believe homosexuality is unnatural and gay men should undergo conversion therapy to make them straight.

Doing acoustics in Physics A level, I tuned the harmonic frequencies on a monochord by ear, because it was quicker and easier than using bits of paper to test for the resonant points. My teacher was not amused.
In my defence, I had been tuning stringed instruments by ear since I was 10.
I suppose also, in A level English, deciding Hardy's Return of the Native didn't deserve to be a set work and unilaterally studying Fitzgerald's transliteration of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam instead was very "me". I was seriously annoying.

In the interests of truth, I fact-checked Farage's claims in the Sunday Mail. Interestingly, on this occasion the Daily Mail has proved to be a reliable source, quoting actual tweets not only from @hkhambalia but others too, and an interview with a local councillor.
@hkhambalia Tweets and comments from @hkhambalia show that contrary to Farage's claims in the SM, Khambalia objected to the club hosting Farage because of his racism and bigotry, not his campaigning for Brexit.
Khambalia was far from alone. Others, including Councillor Potter, objected for exactly the same reasons, and in even stronger words. Potter tweeted an image of Farage's racist "Breaking Point" poster. Yet it was Khambalia Farage decided to cancel. I wonder why?

*sigh* here we go again...

Owning a JPEG of my garden is not the same as owning my garden. All you own is a worthless image.

Similarly, owning an NFT of the JPEG of my garden is not the same as owning my garden. All you own is a worthless token.
You might, because there are a lot of fools in this world, manage to convince some sucker that your worthless token representing the worthless JPEG of my garden is worth $5m.
How do you do this? Why, you set up another address and "sell" your token to it for $5m. Then your token is worth $5m, innit? It's suddenly a "rare collectible".

This is how NFTs become valuable.
