The future is a tsunami of changes.

It's easy to get overwhelmed.

20 meditation tips that will help you surf the wave (and be ready for 2022):🧵
1. Meditation is easy.

It comes naturally, but we get in the way by thinking that it's difficult or challenging.

Remember, what you believe, you create.

And meditation is not an altered state, it's a return to your true self.

Take the position that it's easy and it will be.
2. Make meditation the center of your day.

In our digitally automated lives, finding a new equilibrium is crucial.

Start and end the day with meditation. And do mini-meditations every few hours.

This will help you find and maintain your day-to-day balance.
3. Meditate early.

Meditate, first thing in the morning.

Your mind is quieter when you awake, and getting to stillness is easier.

Also, this way you start the day right.

Take 20 minutes for meditation, before you do anything else.
4. Take mini-meditation breaks.

Every 2 or 3 hours, stop what you're doing and take a few minutes to reconnect with yourself.

Do a deep breathing exercise.

Find your inner stillness.

Or try the 100 to 1 technique. (Find it at the end of this thread. 👇)
5. Meditate before you go to sleep.

Meditating before bed, improves your sleep and sets up a winning tomorrow.

Upgrade your nighttime ritual with 7 to 10 (or more) minutes of meditation.
6. Add meditation to your calendar.

Here's an example:

5:30 am - Meditation - 20 min

10 am - Breathing - 2 min

Midday - Quiet time - 5 min

3 pm - Breathing - 2 min

5 pm - Evening hike (also meditation) - 60 min

10:45 pm - Meditation - 10 min

Schedule it, so it happens.
7. Create a specific meditation space in your home.

Having a specific spot for meditating promotes consistency.

Dedicate a space to your practice.

Make it comfortable and enjoyable.
8. Make your meditation a ritual.

Rituals are power tools for humans.

Enhance your practice by adding elements that transform your mood:

Use music or sounds.

Light candles.

Add soothing aromas.

Create a ritual that helps you switch off the external noise, and tap inward.
9. Don't overthink it.

Taking things too seriously is counter-productive.

Instead, be playful in your approach to meditation.

Let it be fun.
10. Apps, podcasts and books are excellent resources to get you started. Here are a few:

11. Take your meditation deeper.

Once you've mastered a certain level of meditation, you may need to up your game.

Or things can get stale.

Here's what you can do:
12. Study with a master.

Find a meditation teacher to guide you to new levels.

Be thorough. Do your research.

This is not about finding a guru. It's about gaining self-mastery.

13. Go on a 30-day meditation challenge.

Challenges can promote breakthroughs and get you to whole new levels.

And 30 days of consecutive practice can be a game-changer.

15. Attend meditation events.

Events, like challenges can be transformational.

16. Get your friends to join you.

Meditation is an inner journey.

But it's helpful to compare notes, exchange ideas and support each other to be your best selves.

Share what you're doing and see who wants to join you.
17. Keep it simple.

Don't make meditation another project or to-do.

This is about finding clarity and calm in the midst of the chaos.

Chill. And let it unfold.
18. 100 to 1 mini-meditation

Sit or stand comfortably, eyes closed.

While breathing in and out, count backwards from 100 to 0.

Breathe in 100
Breathe out 99
Breathe in 98
Breathe out 97
Continue to zero.

Each inhale or exhale should be 1 - 3 seconds, or what feels natural.
To summarize:

1. Meditation is easy
2. Schedule it, so it happens
3. Create a special space
4. Use apps, books, podcasts
5. Go deeper with a master
6. Do a 30-day challenge
7. Immerse with events
8. Get your friends to join you
9. Keep it simple
10. 100 to 0 mini-meditation

The future is web3.

A massive opportunity for:

Wealth distribution
Creator ownership
An explosion of creative genius
A more permission-less life

Amazing!

But a tech update alone won't change your future.

To 'make it' YOU must update.

Future 101 - The Human Update:🧵
1. Tech is great, but only if YOU update.

Technology does not make you better. It only amplifies who you already are.

A bit like winning the lottery. The money doesn't fix you or your life. In fact, most winners end up bankrupt.

It could be like that in web3.
2. To win in the future, you have to be ready.

Web3 gives you powerful tools.

But most people will have no idea how to use them effectively.

They have no practice.

Currently in web2, 90% consume, 9% engage, only 1% create.

No one is ready for web3.

1. Un-Learn

"The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn." ~ Alvin Toffler

Whatever got you here, no longer works.

Jettison your self perception, mindset, and vibe.

Make space for the new.

The future is happening. FAST.

Here are the 5 principles you need to stay up to speed:

Future 101:🧵
1. Be Adaptable

'When everything changes, change everything.'

In the past, personal change took months or years.

Here, you iterate daily. Every night, let go of the old. Every morning, embrace the new.

Each day, become a more potent complete version of yourself.
2. Be Global

Here, we celebrate the best ideas humanity has to offer.

Real progress depends not just on the method, but on the data. What's required is the widest range of the highest quality data.

Seek out input from all around the globe. The less familiar, the better.
